HER SHIFT STARTED an hour ago, Taylor should have left by now. Y/n told her it was okay to leave many times but she refused. She loved having Taylor around, so it wasn't so bad. Taylor would even help out around the shop, that was a plus.Taylor took a small break to use the bathroom. Elvis took it as the perfect opportunity to get some information from Y/n about everything he missed.
He had just come out from the thriller section and walked toward Y/n, she was working the register yet again. "I see things with Taylor are well again." He spoke, soon seeing a smile appear on his friend's face. He noticed the smile showing up a little too quickly. He won't mention it though...not yet anyway. "What made you change your mind?" He asked curiously.
"It was just the things she said honestly." She explained and went on to tell him about their conversation from that day. When she repeated everything Taylor said to her, she felt a feeling in her stomach that she thought she knew so well. The same feeling she felt when she met her first girlfriend. Maybe it was nothing, Taylor was her best friend, nothing more than that. "She was sweet and genuine. I knew she meant it."
"Well, that's great. I'm glad you two are friends again."
"Me too." She smiled and at that moment, Taylor came back.
She walked toward her best friend and wrapped an arm around her with a happy smile on her face. "We should go out for lunch." She suggested and went on to list a few possible places they could visit. "It would be just the two of us."
Elvis saw as Y/n quickly agreed. He grinned at her teasingly before going back to work. She glared at him, watching as he walked away before looking at Taylor and smiling once again.
Together, they came up with a lunch plan till Y/n had to go back to work.
As she helped customers, Taylor waited in the employee lounge, quietly thinking of the surprise songs she wanted to play for Friday and Saturday's shows. She already knew what she was playing for Sunday's show, that was the show that Y/n was going to. She thought about that one first.
At different points throughout her shift, she caught herself thinking about Taylor. To her, it was weird. She thought about Taylor more this past week than she did the entire time they were friends. She wondered what was going on.
Something was changing and it scared her.
Taylor paid the bill and now, the two friends were walking back to the shop, chatting about whatever they thought of. The topic at the moment was Eras Tour. Taylor was super excited to perform, and that went without saying.
They were almost at the shop, but Taylor suddenly had an idea.
She stopped in her tracks, Y/n looked at her and wondered what was wrong. "Why don't we just spend the rest of the day together?" She questioned. Y/n just looked at her. She wondered if Taylor had forgotten that she was working.
"I can't just ditch in the middle of my shift." She reminded her in case she forgot. Now she had to know what was making her act like this. "What's going on with you? You've never been like this before." She pointed out.
"Is it wrong to want to hang out with my best friend while I can?"
"No, of course not. This is just odd for you." She explained what she meant. At that point, she decided to let it go and move on. She was sure it was nothing. "So, what are we doing today if I'm not finishing my shift?" She questioned as she pulled out her phone to send a quick text to Elvis. He had to know she wouldn't be back till tomorrow.
Once Taylor heard those words, she listed a few options. They might end up going back to Taylor's hotel room to watch TV shows like they used to. "Before we do anything, we have to stop by the stadium. Jack and Aaron need some help with something for the shows."
"That's fine with me, as long as your mom is there to keep me company." Y/n smiled, soon hearing Taylor chuckle. Although she was leaving work early, they still had to get Y/n's car, so they finished the walk to the shop.
The two went silent, enjoying the nature and warm temperature. At that moment, her thoughts focused on Taylor once again. This was the second time today, she didn't know what was causing this to happen. Taylor was just her best friend.
Right?
The second they got to the stadium, Taylor went with Jack and Aaron, and Y/n went to find Andrea. She sent her a quick text to find out where she was. So far, there's no reply. She's definitely going to get lost.
She walked around the stadium, occasionally finding some of the dancers and band members. She would smile at them and wave. She then found Taylor's dressing room.
She walked into the room and shut the door. There sat Andrea with a grin and she was surrounded by the cats. "It's good to see you, honey," Andrea spoke happily, soon standing up to pull Y/n into a hug.
Y/n hugged her back with a smile and a feeling of relief. "It's good to see you too." She replied happily. The two walked toward the couch and sat down, Olivia and Benjamin immediately laying closer to Y/n. Meredith was just enjoying time to herself. "So, I know lots of famous people show up to her concerts, but do you think I could hang out with you in the VIP tent?" She questioned nervously, a nervous giggle coming out.
"I think you'll like the seats I've picked out for you."
She wasn't sure what she meant by that. Honestly, those words scared her a little bit. "You two have been inseparable lately." Andrea pointed out as if it was a noticeable thing. It was noticeable, but she didn't expect people to point it out. "I know she missed you a lot. The whole way here, she talked about going to see you." She admitted.
She felt that feeling again. The same one she felt in the shop, this time she felt her cheeks heating up. Was she blushing? Maybe it wasn't noticeable. She hoped it wasn't.
"It's nice that she thought about me." She smiled, quickly thinking of a new topic. She had to figure out what was going on with herself. Taylor was her best friend, nothing was going to change that. "Anything new with you?" She questioned curiously.
Andrea began to answer the question, she even mentioned the things she'd done today. Now that she wasn't the center of attention, she began to wonder why she had reacted the way she did so suddenly. She remembered how she felt during her first relationship and compared it to how she felt at even the mention of Taylor, it was pretty much the same.
There was no way she was falling for Taylor...right?
