"Geez, your such a wimp. Do you really think I'd like to go out on a date with a low-life like you?" She had said to me, frowning at me with disgust in her blue eyes, as if I was a fly about to land on her desert, and her small hands in pink cotton on her hips.
"I-I did, Mika. That's why I ask you out." I stuttered out, rubbing one of my shoulder but never turning away from her beautiful face.
"Well if you haven't gotten the hint your chances with me is a big fat zero. Now leave my sight, garbage like you should be inside the dumpster and not just lying around." I couldn't do what she wanted me to do, I just froze there on the spot...An aching heart had just dropped out of my chest and into my stomach, making me want to hurl, I could feel tears giving me threats to burst out of my eyes, and I felt all my blood just drain out of me...Bet I look like a stupid icicle. "Never mind, a ninny like you can't think so I'll just excuse myself, Don't bother talking to me ever again until you redeem yourself worthy of my presence." As soon as she was done talking she turn her heels and left me standing there like an idiot, a dumb-struck loser who just got rejected for the first time in his entire life...1 minute...2 minutes...30 minutes...How long am I just going to stand here? The sun is already setting...I'm going to be late...I sighed deeply and decided that it was too cold for me to stand outside anymore, also I'm going to be late for work if I'm just going to mop around.
. . . . . .
"I warned you about that chick, Taylor." I looked over to my co-worker, then slump down on a chair and lied my head down on the table, my eyes focused on completely nothing.
"I know, Ed. You were on target on how she rejected me, but I thought I at least had a tiny chance. After all, It's my first time trying to find a date." I felt his hand softly ruffle up my hair.
"Don't worry champ, you'll find another cute girl that'll like you...Hopefully with a better personality too, Mika was a total b-" Before he could finish his sentence the door loudly slammed wide open, I saw my other partner looming at the entrance of the door like a spooky shadow that's ready to pounce at us at any given moment.
"Guys! I know it's a slow day but that doesn't mean you get to slack off!"
"I'm on break, Cat." I said, then both me and Cat looked at Ed.
"What about you, Edward? Aren't you suppose to be helping me serve the customers outside?" I heard him nervously chuckle to himself.
"Well...I...Taylor got rejected today!" I felt my cheeks warm up and my brows furrow.
"Edward!" He shrugged at me.
"I'm sorry, but when you got to save yourself you'll do anything. Even embarrass your friend." He whispered at me, By the time I open my mouth to yell at him I felt a pair of arms wrap around me.
"Oh you poor thing. There's plenty of fish in the vast sea that'll gladly accepted your love and give you love in return."
"Um...No offense Cat, since you already a current soul mate, but love sucks."
"Yeah, I know...But once you find the one then you'll sing a different tune. So stop being a baby and find another one to love, kiddo." She patted me on the back then stepped away from me. "Now, I'd better get back to work...I'm sure you'll find the girl your looking for."
"I'd hope so." I turn to where Ed used to be sitting at, but it seems that he'd left when he got the chance...I do hope I'll find the chick that'll gladly love me someday...
. . . . . . . .
"Today was so slow..." I sighed to myself, looking up to the dark sky that is currently crying soft tears known as snow. I look down to see the light poles shine brightly within the dull public road covered in a cold white blanket of snow...It would feel a lot less lonely if I had someone to walk with back home. I hang my head low then closed my eyes for a bit, then I heard a small yelp. I stopped in my track and opened my eyes. Before my eyes was red stained snow, it was a small trail of little red driblets leading to somewhere...Is somebody in trouble? "Hello, anyone there?" ...No response. I slowly follow the small trail, the snow was slowly covering up some of the drops but I could still follow it for it just seemed to go forward until it had lead me into a dark ally...I couldn't really see the path clearly, I dig into my pocket until I grabbed my phone then I let it lighten up the path for me. "Hello?"...I heard a faint whine, I only took five steps into the ally until I found the source of the dripping...A black, small dog, maybe a puppy, was lying in the snow. One of it's leg had a huge cut on it, I could barely see it because of how fluffy their fur is. When I tried to touch it they started to growl at me...Then I saw its eyes...Its crimson eyes... It was a beautiful color but I don't remember dogs ever having natural red eyes. "I'm not going to hurt you." I said, slowly inching my hand towards the injured pup. It was still growling at me though, and when my hand was brushing against it's fur they bit me. "Ouch-Hey!" I saw a bit of my blood drip off my hand, it's red eyes was watching me. "That really hurts you know!!" I pounded my other fist in the ground then let out a deep groan, I doubt they're going to let go of my hand anytime soon, I hope he doesn't have any diseases on him... I guess I should just pick it up now while I can, I carefully grabbed the rest of its body and place them close to my chest then I ran home. . . . . .
(You know...I doubt people will try to read this ...Or will want a second chapter ;-;....Never know until I see a read know will I?)
