Living in a middle class status of life is both hard and easy. Sometimes you are privileged in some things but sometimes you are unfortunate. I live in a life wherein I always have to do things at the same time, I can say that I am a great multi-tasker. I always keep up my jolly personality because that's what makes me alive, looking for the brighter and the funnier side of life makes me feel at ease. I am Shim Su Ryeon, from the Shim family, the only child, and dedicated with what life is given to me.
—- 6 years ago —-Suryeon is a 6th grader and just waiting for their upcoming commencement rights. She'll be graduating as the batch valedictorian of the whole campus. She is already dedicated with her education at such a young age, she was known as one of the Korean prodigies. She joined a lot of academic competitions in and outside of Korea. But behind that she maintains her bubbly personality.
"Suryeon-ssi! I heard you'll migrate to America after graduation." She looks at her classmate, and nods.
"Yes, mom and dad plan to migrate because I have to continue my studies there." She replied, then suddenly a child from another block came with his face covered and gave a flower and chocolate to Suryeon. Young Suryeon smiled, but was still curious what the young boy looked like.
She accepted the flowers and chocolate then there was a card along with it saying, " Hi, congratulations for being our batch valedictorian and good luck with your next journey." She smiled and felt like her cheeks turned red.
Fast forward to graduation day...
Everyone congratulated Shim Suryeon, and her parents were really proud of her. She already gave her valedictory speech, and she and her parents went home.
Fast forward to their flight...
" I'll be back, Korea! I will be back." She murmured and the plane departed.
— 6 years later—
Shim Suryeon is no longer an elementary student nor a high school student, she is now a freshman in college, and taking up Nursing in Duke University. She studied so hard to be able to pass in this prestigious school. She is currently attending her class, and she actually had her very close friend, also a Korean and they have been friends since highschool.
" You have to make a concept map about the muscular system and it has to be passed next week. You can now find your partner. Thank you and see you next week." Their professor said and left the classroom.
" Suryeon-ssi, do you have a partner?" Her best friend approached her.
" None, Logan. Do you want to be my partner instead?" She replied,
" Sure, Suryeon-ssi. So when do you think we can start making the concept map?" Logan asked.
" Maybe tomorrow? In the cafe nearby, we should do it there, the ambiance is so good. I heard you like someone in this class, you are not telling me anything, I should have recommended it to you yesterday." Suryeon smiled like she was teasing Logan.
" You know what, wherever you get that information, that's not true. I am not into someone right now. " Suryeon just laughed and Logan poked her waist and Suryeon got pissed.
"Ya! You know I hate that." She rolled her eyes. And Logan just laughed at it and they left the room together.
