chapter 9: the first step part two

Our revanants were launched into the forest alongside their friends, acquaintances, and in one case, enemy, now they have one goal in mind, find their partner, or die trying as everyone begins to land

Ruby, as she's flying, hits a bird that ploofs into a burst of feathers and responds

Ruby:"Birdie, no!"

She then uses her weapon Crescent rose to slow her descent as Weiss uses her glyphs to slow her own descent and make it to the ground while nora and ren land themselves, and then yang flies by using her shotgun gauntlets to launch herself

Yang:"Woo-hoo! Yeah! Alley-oop!"

She then lands in the forest and says

Yang:"Nailed it!"

She then runs off, and as jaune is flying through the air, pyrrha throws her spear at him, which pins him to a tree, saving him, and he says to her, which she hears as a distant voice

Jaune:"Thank you!"

Pyrrha: "I'm sorry!"

As Ruby runs through the forest, she thinks to herself

Ruby: "Gotta find Yang! Gotta find Yang, gotta find Yang, gotta find... Yang! Yaaaang! Oh, this is bad, this is really bad... What if I can't find her? What if someone finds her first? Well, there's always Jaune. He's nice. He's funny! ...I don't think he's very good in a fight, though. Ooh! What about Blake?! So mysterious, so calm... Plus she likes books! Then again, I'm not sure I'd be able to hold a conversation with her... Ugh! Okay... Who else do I know in this school? There's Yang, Jaune, Blake, aaaand..."

She then makes eye contact with Weiss, who turns and walks away after a long silence as Ruby tries to follow

Ruby: "Wait! Where are you going?!" She then stops and kicks the ground dejectedly."We're supposed to be teammates..."

Weiss then struggles through the forest and eventually comes a stop and brushes herself sighing in relief until she hears a voice above her who's audibly struggling

Jaune: "Come on, come on! Stupid...!"

Weiss then sees jaune hanging from his hood trying to free himself from being pinned to a tree by a spear, he looks down seeing her giving an embarrassed wave, before she turns away and walks back where she came from as jaune groans in dejection and Weiss passes Ruby and drags her by her hood saying

Weiss: "By no means does this make us friends."

Ruby then overjoyed as she's dragged away, says

Ruby: "You came back!"

Jaune then sees this waves his arms around and says

Jaune: "Wait! Come back! Who's going to get me down from here?!"

Pyrrha: "Jaune?" he looks down and sees the one who saved him,"you... have any spots left on your team?"

Jaune then crosses his arms and says

Jaune: "Very funny..." Then he eventually looks down at her and gives a smile, which she returns the gesture

And back with the first pair, Weiss is walking through the forest with Ruby a bit behind her who says

Ruby: "What's the hurry?"

Weiss: "I will not let my mission be delayed because you're too slow! I swear, if I get a bad grade because of your—" she's then cut off by a smiling Ruby suddenly appearing next to her."What the...?"

Ruby: "I'm not slow, see? You don't have to worry about me!"

Weiss, surprised and slightly amazed, then responds

Weiss: "When did...?"

Ruby then responds, saying

Ruby: "Weiss, just because I don't exactly know how to deal with people doesn't mean I don't know how to deal with monsters!" She gets an arm around a skeptical Weiss' shoulders "You're about to see a whole different side of me today, Weiss, and after it's all over, you're going to be like ' 'Wow! That Ruby girl is really, really cool...' ' in a somewhat mousily manner, "and I wanna be her friend!"

Ruby then dissappears in a shower of rose petals, which Weiss waves away from her face as she hears a nearby bush rustle and crackle

Weiss: "You may be fast, but you still excel at wasting time!" Then silence, save more noises around her. "Ruby?" The forest then darkens, forcing Weiss to lean in to try and find her new partner as she's being watched."Ruby...?"

Weiss then turns around, spotting a large beowolf emerge from a bush heading towards her

Weiss: "Ruby!"

Moira pov |

I then land after slowing my fall with ice via the relics, and I wander around looking for my partner before I lock eyes with a blue-eyed girl who says

???: "Oh! Hello there! It seems we'll be teammates for now on, oh where are my manners, my name is amber, amber amamiya, it's nice to meet you, uh"

I then recognized her last name and said

"My name is Moira, say, you wouldn't happen to have a brother named Louis and sister named Karen, right?"

She then responds, surprised

Amber: "I do! I've been stranded here trying to find out where I am and find him. Could you tell me where he is, please?"

I then freeze and think carefully before responding

"Your brother saved my life.. but lost his own in a grimm attack from what I remember.."

Amber's eyes then widen in disbelief before she says

Amber: "W-what?!.. it can't be.. he was smart and strong.. he couldn't have.."

I then console her as we walk together, and we now know

We have to make them proud!

(And that's a wrap for the first step part two! I hope you all are enjoying this so far, our revanant has found her teammate and now has to go to find the relics of this initiation, but little do they know they may run into some old enemies, now remember dear reader "in the face of certain death, we rise!")
