"It doesn't take a hero to order men into battle. It takes a hero to be one of those men who goes into battle."

– Norman Schwarzkop.
The airport was filled with family members and friends that came to welcome their military relatives that came back from the twenty six months tour. It felt good to finally walk freely without having to worry about training.
Not wanting to waste enough time since I was tired from the journey, I grabbed my bag and hailed a taxi. My as ooh apartment wasn't too far , I stayed in the house provided for the defence forces  although my brother had invited me to leave with him,I planned on moving out since I was tired of having co military personnel as neighbors.
I alighted from the cab upon seeing my apartment, paid the driver and walked in to the place I haven't being in over two years.
  "Laura"
the receptionist yelled coming to hug me
"Hi Marcy, can you watch over this for me , I'll be back"
She happily agreed and carried my bag along with her .
I went to the nearest eatery, I needed something to drink not necessarily eat.
"Can I have  Chapman"
I asked drumming with my fingers on the counter.
" Make it two,l'll pay"
I  turned to face the owner of the voice, he looked like he was in his late twenties with a well defined jaw line and muscles prying out from his blue shirt and wait...
His hair? Quite unique,  it was packed in a short pony tail with the side shaved.

(👆this is what I mean)

I was about to speak up before he hushed me
" It's the least I can do for someone that serves our country" l still felt an uncertainty. our order was done,he carried the drinks and walked to a nearby table. I sat
" What do you want" I asked while sucking the Chapman with a straw
" I'll take that as my thanks" he said dryly
" I didn't ask you "
"I had to do so for my future  boss " he said with a shrug . I was about to act indifferent till I heard the last word boss?
" What do you mean?"
" Commader  didn't tell you " he asked sliding his phone on the table from his side to mine.the caller ID displayed Dwanye commander's name .
I answered it , through out the whole call I stopped listening after he told me this annoying man in front of me have to tag along with me because he was some sort of journalist needing information about the war.
" You got to be fucking kidding me " I said putting down the phone
" I just wanted to rest during this leave"
" You can rest while with me " he said
I gave him a glare" you're still a burden"
" A burden you have to bear" he said then winked at me.
