The door swung violently open, shattering the silence and peace that enveloped the surroundings."Why have you decided to bring someone to live in these lands? When did you plan to tell me? Am I just another piece of furniture in this house? Remember, I am the alpha now," he questioned.
"I don't need to give you explanations. Remember, you are the alpha in name only, but I am still the one in charge here," he said, striking the desk with one of his palms. "You will welcome her in the best way. She's the daughter of one of the most important people in my life; I owe him a lot, and a wolf always keeps his promises," he replied, challenging his younger son's arrogance.
Don Guillermo was a werewolf who had endured many overwhelming and painful experiences. Leading a pack alongside his younger son, Sebastián, and the loss of his elder son as the pack's alpha tormented him every night.
"Then do as you wish if it's your decision. I don't want any trouble with her. Teach her the rules," he said as he left the room, leaving Sebastián in deep thought.
Sebastián couldn't stand his father's attitude. He was tired of hearing him declare that he was the one in charge. He hadn't asked to be the alpha.
He entered his room and walked to the balcony, facing the vast forest that surrounded and protected them, the Itreque, his family, his pack.
But this argument differed from the previous ones, where his father had demanded that he get married, insisting that the alpha's strength lay in it. He should become a complete being, like his father or his brother, but he hated that idea deep down. His brother wasn't the best example for it. He had been lost in pain for years, locked up, broken, and, above all, behaving like a beast.
His wife's death had only brought misery to the pack. Blinded by grief, he had relentlessly hunted for those responsible and had turned the pack into a target for future revenge.
Sebastián didn't believe in love. He didn't think it would make him stronger. He just wished his father would stop pestering him about it.
He resented the idea of his father bringing an outsider into the pack. From what he had heard, it was a human, the daughter of a good friend, but bringing her here only smelled of trouble, especially with Alexter involved...
He was certain that his father still held hope in his heart that one day Alexter would reclaim his place, as he didn't consider Sebastián worthy of being the alpha of the Itreque. But he was mistaken, lying to himself. Alexter would never return.
