CHAPTER 3

ARABELLA'S POINT OF VIEW

Fuck, why are they acting weird!?

"We need to hurry." I mumbled as they all nodded. Mabilis ngunit maingat kaming naglakad. Malapit na kami sa pintuan at nakita kong binuksan ng mga kasama namin sa bahay ang pinto. We we're really close nang makarinig ako ng malakas na kalabog. Napatingin ako kay via na napahiga sa sahig.

"Shit shit shit." Sunod-sunod na mura ni Iverson at tinulungan siyang makatayo. Nakarinig kami ng mabibilis at malalakas na yabag.

"Hurry up inside!" I yelled as I got the baseball bat from the things they got from our canteen. Hinintay namin silang makapasok at buti na lang, hindi nila kami naabutan. But it was so close. Agad-agad kaming pumasok ni ryde at sinara niya ang pinto, locking it. We we're all panting.

"W-what the fuck was that!?" I asked but they all stayed quiet, spacing out and still in shocked for what had happen. Few minutes have passed and we all calmed down.

"We think that they are zombies." Daniela broke the silence.

"Kinagat nila si John. Nang makaalis kami, John acted so weird. Kinulong namin siya sa isang kuwarto kasi when he coughed blood after a few minutes, he tried attacking and biting Nayah. Napalo namin siya sa likod niya ng upuan kaso di pa rin siya natinag kahit masira na yung upuan. We pushed him away from Nayah at tumakbo. Ni-lock namin yung pinto and when we're gone, sumilip kami sa bintana and we saw him growling, making weird noises while his mouth is open and covered in blood." Sheena explained.

"I was the one who hit him with the chair and all I can think about is there's a zombie apocalypse in our school. Hindi na bago sa'kin ang mga ganitong bagay kasi alam niyo naman na dati pa lang ay mahilig kami ni Via na manood ng zombie films." Lucy explained.

"I agree with Lucy. I saw how John tried his best to bite me. Hindi ko na siya makilala." Nayah said. Nakikinig lang kami nila Via, Verson and Ryde.

Zombies. Kung zombies nga ang nakita namin, isa lang ang tanong na bumagabag sa aking isipan. Saan at paano nagsimula ang mga nangyayari ngayon?

Kumuha ng papel at ballpen si Lucy at bumalik sa amin. Inilapag niya yun sa sahig.

"While we're outside earlier, there are some things I realized." She wrote something on the paper.

"Those zombies can't see. We tried walking in front of them even touch them but they didn't try to attack us. So ang weakness nila is blindness and yung strength is they can't feel pain, which explains how John didn't feel pain earlier kahit masira yung upuan sa katawan niya." Napakagat ako ng labi dahil hindi ko lubos maisip ang itsura ni John. Isang matalik na kaibigan namin si John. He's feminine and he's very fun to be with. It's sad to know that this shit have happened at isa siya sa napinsala. Nagsulat ulit si Lucy.

"Another strength nila is that they have a heightened hearing but it can also be their weakness. John attacked Nayah because she's scared and sobbing while Sheena, Daniela, and I were quiet. Pwede siyang maging weakness kasi..." Lucy said.

"Kanina... yung nagtitinda sa canteen nakagat ata siya sa leeg. Ang sabi niya samin, 'Be quiet, their ears are sensitive. Don't you dare make a sound or you'll end up like me'. Pagkalabas namin ng market ay naghagis ako ng latang walang laman sa may gate. Lahat sila tumakbo doon kaya nakatakbo kami malapit dito sa subdivision. Maybe that can be their weakness." Pagputol ko kay Lucy at napatango naman siya.

"It can be their weakness cause we can lure them to the other way. But it can be their strength dahil kapag isa sa atin ang nag-ingay, kahit mahina pa 'yan, madali nila tayong naririnig. Also, they are strong as fuck. Ayan palang ang nakikita ko for now. We need to be safe. Hindi pwedeng may mahiwalay na isa sa atin." Lucy said as all of us agreed.
