One day at a time. That's how Jake lived his life.

Whatever issues came about, they would get solved when they did. He didn't have time to worry about things for days on end, he was too busy enjoying his life.

But on this day, that normal relaxing cycle was interrupted by a knock on his front door.

"Who dare knock on my door at this ungodly hour?", Jake said, taking off his blanket.

It was 1pm and he was taking a nap.

He reached the front door and opened it, not seeing anyone.

"What the-"

"Hi!"

"Ah!"

Jake jumped back in shock. Looking down, a small boy stood there, dressed in traditional looking clothes with a bright smile on his face.

"Um...are you lost kid?"

The Kid tilted his head.

He held up his arms, wanting to be picked up.

Jake, very reluctantly, picked up the child, looking around for any signs of adults.

"Where are your parents?"

The Kid just shook the fabric of his shirt, causing a note to fall.

Jake bent down, picking it up.

Unfolding the letter, he read it aloud.

"Dear person who finds this letter, we are a family from Japan, who due to circumstances beyond our control, have been forced to relocate. This is our son, Riki. We have no money and no means to take care of him, so we had to pass him along to someone who would be better fit. I hope he behaves for you, and that you will keep him happy, safe, and healthy. One day, we will see our Riki again. Until then, take care of our baby."

Jake looked at the boy in his arms, who smiled, completely unaware of what was happening to him.

"And they chose this house? Oh you poor kid..."

Jake closed the door, going to his living room.

He put Riki down, letting the boy run about the house.

Picking up his phone, Jake decided to make a call.

The phone rang a few times before it was picked up.

"Hello?"

"Lee. Heeseung. Get. Here. Now. Today. This. Minute."

"Aww, you miss me!"
