To shield her eyes from the bright lights, Charlotte placed her hand over them. My head is killing me. She stretched, looked at the alarm clock that indicated it was Saturday 10:17 am and headed into the bathroom. She took a quick shower, brushed her teeth and took an aspirin for her headache. How much did I drink last night? I had the weirdest dream. She walked to the bedside table, grabbed her phone and checked her messages. Most of the Miss Grand team had sent her congratulatory texts and asked her to enjoy her day off. She thought it was weird that P'Fa hadn't said anything. She tried calling her twice, but it went straight to voicemail. I guess she's working. She connected the phone to the charger and went to the kitchen to make some breakfast for her and Phalo.
The front door opened up and the smell of freshly baked croissants filled the room. Good morning, roomie. I brought your favorite so you can start your day off right. Char smiled. Thank you Marima. I was just about to have some breakfast. Marima placed the box of croissants on the counter and took off her jacket. It's a little chilly today so if you plan on going out, please use a jacket. I can't deal with bunny sniffles today. Char laughed. I don't think I will go out today. I want to enjoy my first day off in a while, maybe invite the girls over. Marima took a bite out of one of the croissants and sat next to Char on the couch. I have to clean my room and go visit my parents later in the day.
The intro for "What's Wrong with Secretary Kim?" played on the TV. Oh no, not again. Char, you have seen this show enough times. I swear you know every single line of every scene by now. Char scoffed. I do not. It's my comfort series. You should watch it someday with me. Marima shook her head and got off the couch. I've seen glimpses of it and trust me it's not my kind of show. I'm going to clean my room. The sound of the door closing brought Char's attention back to the episode she was halfway through. She paused the episode when she heard her phone ringing in her room. It was a call from her dad. Hey Daddy! How are you doing?
After she was done talking to him, she finished the episode and her breakfast. She leaned on the kitchen counter as she checked her social media. Marima grabbed her bag and keys. Hey Mar. Do you if P'Fa is working today? Marima looked at her confused. You mean Faye? I haven't heard from her in a bit so I'm not sure. Char shook her head. Don't be silly. I mean Engfa. Do you know if she's working today? Weirdly, she hasn't called me back or at least texted me. Marima walked up to her. Who's Engfa? Did you meet someone at the party last night and not tell me? She smacked Char's arm playfully. What? No. I mean Engfa Waraha, Miss Grand Thailand. She laughed at how perfectly she imitated P'Fa. Umm sweetie, I don't know what you drank last night that's got you so confused, but Heidi is Miss Grand Thailand. She's in Indonesia right now for the international competition, remember?
Mar, what are you talking about? Is this a joke? Because it's a really bad one. I'm not laughing. Char crossed her arms. Do I need to take you to the doctor? I will if it gets me out of seeing my parents today. I think they want to introduce a guy to me again. She rolled her eyes. I don't need to go to a doctor, but maybe you do. I know you don't like her that much because of everything, but don't have to be so cruel. Marima called her mother. Ma, I might be a little late. There's a situation with Charlotte. Yeah, I'll call you when I'm in the car. Char stomped her feet out of frustration. Mar, you're taking it too far. If you don't know if P'Fa is working, all you had to do is say that.
Marima grabbed her hand, led her to the couch and gave Char her phone. Sweetie, look up Miss Grand Thailand winner 2022 on Google. Char reluctantly did as she was told. W-wha... What is this? How could Heidi be Miss Grand Thailand? She looked at the source of the response. Of course, it's Wikipedia. They place wrong information all the time. Char gave Marima her phone back. It's fine. I'll just ask Papa where she is. Go see your parents, you can't avoid them forever. Marima didn't want to leave her like that, but rush hour was coming up. We'll talk more about this tonight. Maybe you're still hungover from last night and a bit confused. I'll come back as soon as I can. Char groaned. Marima's "joke" was getting on her nerves. She called P'Fa again and it went straight to voicemail.
