That evening, the festivities were in full swing in the large reception hall of the Golden Palace. Several dozen people were talking and laughing around large tables arranged like buffets. The walls were richly decorated with imperial red trimmings and all the tables with white and blue flowers. On the central table sat a huge colorful cake. On this one could be read the inscription "Happy birthday Valeïs!" already partially devoured. Next to it sat a small blonde and dark-haired girl surrounded by a tall Nar' with long white hair and wolf ears kneeling beside her and a small blonde-haired human holding her by the shoulders. The little girl seemed very excited and couldn't sit still on her chair. All eyes were on her as she unwrapped a large gift package. Inside was a beautiful tunic embroidered and decorated with pieces of eternal ice. Her little blue eyes shone brightly as she looked at the outfit, but just as she was about to turn back to the assembly, a person entered the room, noisily breaking down the door and then collapsed from fatigue in the middle of the crowd.

-  What does that mean ?! Asked the white-haired Nar' approaching her.

-  M-Matriarch!... began the intruder, gasping. The Ambrian front has fallen... I'm sorry, the city... It's gone!

A sigh of horror passed through the crowd. Another little Nar' dressed in a robe made of gold rings approached the Matriarch with a worried look. The latter nodded silently just before feeling a slight tug on her cloak. Turning around, she saw the little girl's look a little worried.

-  What's going on, Ada?

(Ada = Mom in old Nar' language/Adanai = Mother)

Julie knelt again in front of her and took her in her arms.

-  Don't worry about it, sweetie. Stay here with your big brother and your friends, okay? Mom and I have to go and sort something out and then we'll be right back.

Another tall, white-haired Nar' who stood behind the little one earlier nodded and gently took his little sister's hand to lead her back to the table where the cake was. He took her in his arms and let her play with one of his wolf ears, but the little one didn't take her eyes off her moms for a moment as they left the room, accompanied by several other people.
