"Miss, (L/N), I must ask...How do you keep coming across these artefacts?"
The woman only tilted her head in question, blinking at his request with a small smile, a hint of confusion on her features. "Oh? What do you mean by that~?"
The man beside her only let his eyes widen in surprise at her response. Surely she should know what he was talking about? She wasn't that oblivious to the whole situation, was she?
Was she?
He only cleared his throat and adjusted the glasses on his face, brows furrowing.
"Why, surely you should know! I'm sure at least half the artefacts in this museum have been purchased from you....How do you do it..?" The man only leaned forward in intrigue, his hand moving to cup his chin thoughtfully as he waited for the woman's response.
The woman hummed to herself in thought for a moment, but suddenly, she let out a cheeky smile, placing a finger to her lips. "Well, a magician never reveals their secrets, eh, Sota?" After that, she let out a small laugh, the man beside her - Sota- deadpanning at her words.
Sota grumbled under his breath, the suit adorning his frame far more professional than his personality could ever be. "At least tell me about your eyepatch...every time you promise to tell me why you have it, but every time you always brush it off and delay it.." He scoffed to himself, shaking his head with a small smile. "I'd reckon you wear it for no other reason than to think you look cool.."
(Y/N) chuckled at this, moving to close her now empty suitcase, what was once in there now stored away safely in the museum. "Well, I'm afraid I'll have to delay it further. And you may believe what you like until you know."
In total, despite all the times she had been to the museum, Sota only knew three things about her.
One: She never told him why she had an eyepatch over her right eye.
Two: She would always visit at least once a month with a new historical artefact to store away in the museum.
Three: her way of speaking was far more traditional than anyone he ever met.
That was it.
Sota didn't know her age. If she was single, hell- he didn't even know her favourite colour at all!
Though, she did give the impression that she didn't give information away so easily.
But then that raises questions on how she got the artefacts...maybe through the black market? No, she wouldn't expose herself so many times with new discoveries if that was the case..Maybe she had a map of everything precious in the world worth taking...No, that was just Sota being immature..there was no way anyone could create that if the artefacts are missing, not to mention, no one is old enough to remember where everything might be..
Sota only sighed to himself, rubbing the side of his head as he let out a small pout. "Man, I give up on you...there's no way I'm gonna be able to know anything, am I?"
At this, the woman nodded, picking up her suitcase, giving the man one last small smirk over her shoulder, and turning to the exit. "I'm afraid not..though, you can always try when I return. I find it amusing."
Sota only chuckled, raising his hand to wave her off as she walked through the exit. "Maybe I'll try again when I see you next time!" He called out to her, only gaining a small wave over her shoulder as she pushed the door open and stepped onto the street with a small sigh.
Without another word, she moved to run her free hand through her hair as she walked down the grand and pale stairs, the museum's marble watching as she left the building. "So, Kanashii, which way home should we go this time?"
