I was walking along the dark street around 10 p.m. I know I shouldn’t have been out here all
along as a girl but I had to pick up my medicine and I don't have a car since I'm in college and
live on campus. I continue to walk down the dimly lit street until I see a silhouette of something
lying on the ground. I don't think much of it until I get closer, probably standing 10 feet away
from it. I grab my phone and turn on the flashlight to see what it is. As I turn the flashlight to the
silhouette I notice it is a person but not. They're missing a mouth and an ear. I let out a scream
as I backed up. I quickly try to call the cops. As I tell the dispatcher I see, I try to examine it
more. Something something strange I noticed is that there so no blood nor any signs of scars
from taking off the ear and mouth. It is like the person was born like that. About 3 minutes later
the cops arrive. I'm still trying to figure out what is happening. The cops try to mock me at first
saying it's a prank and that it's probably just a doll.
“Well, why don't you go look for yourselves!” I yell, obviously annoyed by their remarks.
“Fine!” They yell once again in a mocking tone.
The 2 cops walk up there. The taller one with short dark brown hair kneels right in front of it
while the shorter one with blond long hair takes out a pad and pen. As the tall one describes it
and the other one takes notes, probably writing down what is being said, the body suddenly
reaches out and grabs the hand of the cop kneeling in front of him. He screams bloody murder
as the body takes its other hand and starts pulling his brown short hair out. The other cop calls
for backup while running away leaving his friend for dead. I began the process of what is
happening and I finally can move. I start to run to the nearest gas station which is about a
minute away. I grab my phone while running and I tell the dispatcher what just happened.
“My name is Mark”, the dispatcher said trying to comfort me, “What's your name?”
“Cleo” I reply, my voice still shaking heavily.
Once I arrive at the gas station, I tell the worker there that he needs to lock the door and hide.
He looks at me like I'm mad, I can't blame him. I would probably give the same look if someone
ran into my store and told me that. I put the dispatcher on speaker and once he relizes that it
was 911, he helped me.
Once it turns into daylight, I leave the gas station and head back to my dorm. I feel my phone
start to vibrate in the side pocket of my blue, ripped jeans. It startled me a little bit at first but
then I grabbed it in my pocket which the phone barely fit in. I pulled it out and saw my roommate
calling me.
“Cleo! Where in the world are you?!” She yelled, clearly annoyed.
“I'm walking back to campus, I went to pick up my medication but something happened. I'll
explain to you, Lily, once I get back,” I said
“No. You’re gonna explain it to me-”
I hung up on her. I love her, she’s my best friend but I just need to take a little bit to myself.
About 5 minutes later, I saw the school campus in the distance. Part of me wants to go sit in the
park in front of the main building. As I go to sit down I see another person sitting down on a
bench across from me. They look like a 20-something male with long brown hair. Their head is
down like they are asleep. I get up and sit next to them. I don't know why I did that. It was
stupid.
“Hello,” I say.
No reply. I do not recognize them at all. At this point, I'm so tired that I get up and go back to my
dorm. Before I even can walk 2 feet away from them, I feel a cold hand on my shoulder. I freeze.I stand there, petrified. I feel the grip on me growing stronger. I try to run or even just scream but
I can't. I feel like my feet are glued to the ground and I feel like I don't have a mouth. I don't feel
like I have a mouth. Somehow I break free and feel my mouth as I fall to the ground. I don't have
a mouth. I get up quickly and start running. I covered where I was and was supposed to be so
no one saw me. As soon as I get inside of one the buildings, I go into a bathroom. No one is in
there. I removed my hand from where my mouth was. It's back.
“Hello?” I say, seeing if I can talk. I can. I can talk normally. I take off my jacket and pull my
sleeve up to see my shoulder. There is a clear mark which is broken skin. But I don't see blood,
but rather a black liquid which is a similar feel to blood but just black. I grab a paper towel from
the dispenser put water on it and clean off my shoulder.
I don't know what to do.
