A/N: I wrote this for the_coffee_fandom in May for their Maribat Hanahaki event, and added on a second and third part later. The second part was quite short because I wanted to get my AO3 wc to exactly 123,456. For WP, I'll just squish parts 1&2 together. Enjoy!
Raven stared at the bloody petals in her hand.
...
With a decisive motion, she flung them into the garbage and washed her hands.
~~~~~
Soft giggles floated across the large living space as the newest member of the Titans rubbed her nose against her lover's, pressing kisses to his face.
She booped his nose for good measure, squealing quietly as he caught and nipped her finger.
Raven glanced up from her book, rubbing her hand absentmindedly above her heart, as if it would soothe the ache.
The habit was relatively new, and she didn't even know why she did it. The rubbing never soothed the ache.
She caught Kon's eye as he retaliated by poking Mari's nose several times.
She lifted the corners of her lips. All is well.
He grinned back and turned back to Marinette.
She turned back to her book, suddenly despising them. Books just weren't the same as a person.
With a huff, she opened a portal to her favourite retreat and left the lovers to themselves.
~~~~~
"Raven?" Marinette looked around the living room.
"I think she left a while ago, Mari."
"Oh," she pouted. "I wanted to give her the design for her new outfit." She turned from Raven's corner, piled high with books, and paused.
Stooping, she picked up a small object, holding it up to the light. "A daffodil petal?"
She cocked her head. "Can daffodils be red?"
Her jaw dropped in shock, the petal fluttering to the floor.
"Where did she go?"
Part 2:
"Why did you leave?" Marinette knelt beside Raven, the red and purple of their capes blending into a bloody-looking visual from where Kon hovered a respectable distance away.
Raven plucked another petal off the daffodil in her hand, watching idly as it fluttered down the snowy cliffside.
"I think you know why, Mari."
"Just tell me, Raven," she begged. "Surely we can do something."
Raven looked at her calmly. "You can't."
Part 3: (A/N: I had no idea how to finish it but I was bribed with cookies and this is how it ended.)
Marinette crossed the living area, two steaming mugs of tea in her hands, and sat beside Raven on the couch.
Raven was curled up in the corner, her feet tucked under her. She brushed her hair behind her ear and took the mug Mari offered with a small smile. "Thanks."
"Sooo..." Marinette tapped her fingertips against the mug, the quiet clinking of her nails hitting the ceramic and providing something to break the awkward stillness.
"So."
"You have Hanahaki?"
"I have Hanahaki."
"And...you like me."
Raven nodded, sipping from her mug, using the rim to hide her face somewhat.
"Okay...I think I need some time to process this, Raven."
Raven nodded. "Take your time."
~~~
Kon sat beside Raven on the opposite end of the couch. "Mari, huh?"
She glanced at him from the corner of her eye and shrugged. "Why not."
Kon hummed. "Hey, I get it."
Raven huffed inwardly. No need to rub it in . He got the girl.
Kon fidgeted with the TV remote for a while.
The awkward atmosphere finally pierced Raven's nonchalant shell and she sat up straight, prepared to snap something and teleport away from the sheer claustrophobic energy in the Tower.
"I have an idea...depending on what Mari ends up saying."
"...I'm listening."
~~~
The other Titans were gone on a mission, so with just the three of them remaining, the elephant in the room only grew.
The weekend ended and a new week began, and Marinette still hadn't said a word.
Kon cornered her in the kitchen Monday afternoon.
"Raven and I have a proposition for you."
Marinette looked up from the almost-boiling kettle she was intently watching. "Hm?"
"Date both of us."
"What?"
"If you want, you should try dating Raven. We're both cool with it, if you want to. Neither of us want to pressure you, but if you want to, go for it- with our blessing. I know you had what you termed 'a girl crush' on her when you first joined the Titans, and, to be honest, I kind of expected one of you to make a move sometime before we started dating."
"Really?"
Raven appeared from the shadows. "Yeah. What do you think? Still need more time?"
Marinette shook her head. "I'd like to try dating you both, if you're cool with that. I'll take you at your words that you are."
Raven smiled at her happily. "Thank you for giving me a chance."
"Of course!"
