Looking down at the ground from this height, Icin felt fear. Yet, he wanted to jump this building and just die here.

He didn't care if anyone saw, just as long as he would stop existing. But, he was scared to die.. he didn't want to die yet.

'Just let go of the rails.. you don't have to do it, Icin..' his mind told him.

Before he could step away from the railings, he heard steps behind him. A voice fell in his ears.

"..You shouldn't be doing that, it's dangerous." Icin looked behind him and saw his classmate. He's never spoken to him before, but he was pretty popular in his class and out of class.

"I wasn't gonna.." Icin finally stepped off of the railings, "I just thought that the scenery was nice."

"Oh." the person mused, "Don't do that anyway, it's dangerous."

"..okay."

Icin thought nothing of this interaction at first, his classmate of his just coincidentally found him in a dangerous position and told him it was dangerous and he shouldn't do that.

But, as the days pass by, the boy kept acting friendly with him. It wasn't a bad friendly side, but it was suspicious.

'Does he have ulterior motives?' even if he asked, his mind wouldn't give an answer. And he couldn't read Icin's mind.

Icin let everything pass by him, let the boy do whatever he wanted. Whether he helps Icin study for lessons he doesn't understand, give him free food, or talk to him whenever he was bored.

Icin didn't care, he liked the attention. It felt like having a friend, so even if they did have an ulterior motive, he couldn't care less. At least he had someone he could call a friend.. for now.

He guiltily admits in his head.

But, as human as he was, he too wanted real friendship. He couldn't ask, he wanted to ask for weeks yet hadn't had the opportunity to.

"Nicaé (Niseye), can you come with me to the rooftop?" Nicaé nodded to Icin's request. So pliant that he couldn't help but feel weird at it.

Once they both headed to the rooftop, Icin stared at the sky; his back facing Nicaé was the only thing he could see.

Finally, Icin turned around to face Nicaé with a very serious face. A slightly scrunched up face and eyes brimming with confidence.

"Tell me the truth, why did you approach me?"

"Because I wanted to."

"That's all?" Icin was taken aback. "You don't have any ulterior motives?"

"Why would I? Wasn't it you who wished to have a friend?" Icin's face turned red from embarassment, "You always had that face that longed to interact with people but was scared to. So, instead of waiting for you to talk to me, I talked to you instead."

A smile was evident on Nicaé's face.

"You wanted friends, didn't you?"

Icin looked at Nicaé with a dumbfouded face. So, he was just trying to befriend him and yet he thought awfully about him. That he had ulterior motives when he never did.

Icin pursed his lips, lowered his head and faced away from Nicaé. Turns out he was the bad person.

Nicaé looked at Icin and smiled, "Then, let me introduce myself again." Icin's head rose, "My name is Nicaé Evrion, I want to be your friend, would you like to be my friend?"

His hand was outstretched towards him, Icin stared at it for a while. His eyes looked glassy and red.

Icin stretched his hand towards him, his head lowered but in a quiet tone, he spoke.

"I'd like to be your friend.. too."
