Chapter 18 ~ accused ~

Kan finally managed to get hold of Champ on Sunday night to tell him everything that had been happening. There wasn't really anything that he could do because Kiri's security seemed to have everything under control so he just told Ian and his mum to hang in there and that everything would die down but unfortunately Monday morning brought more bad news.

The media had grown impatient waiting for a story with meat on it so they were making their own up as to why a famous Thai celebrity was shacked up with a male nurse and his mother in a rural village. 

The stories they made up were ridiculous but the most ridiculous was that Betty had indulged in an affair with a Thai doctor and Phikhuam was their love child, it didn't seem matter that he had his own parents back in Thailand.

Somehow they had found out about Ian's friends and about Kan's mum being married to a Thai Professor who was somehow given the main role as the most likely candidate to be Phikhuam's father.

Things were getting out of control now and Phikhuam realised the only way forward was to hold a press conference and tell them the truth so later that day joined by Kiri, Lon, Kan, Andy and Ian and flanked by security, Phikhuam told them the truth, that he was dating Elisabeth Banks son with a view to marriage.

He requested that the media leave his friends and family in peace and it appeared that they were happy with their scoop and everything went back to normal but by Wednesday morning there were more headlines, someone called Keith Bartlet had been spouting his poison to anyone who would listen.

Keith was one of the original members of the Willow's Brook football club but as soon as Kan had told his team mates about his relationship with Kiri, Keith had quit after having an argument with Champ over his homophobic comments.

He had told the newspapers about Kan's relationship with Kiri Junphanatat and after that it was easy for them to find out about Lon and Andy then of course Ian and Phikhuam and because the news had gone viral Liam's ex agent had spewed his vitriol by telling them about Liam and Champ.

"Keith that piece of shit, just wait until I get my fucking hands on him" Champ told Kan as everyone had met at Kiri and Kan's place.

"calm down mate, we all know what an asshole he is, his nasty words can't hurt us" Andy said.

"they're saying we planned it all to bag rich guys, they're calling us gold diggers" Champ said.

"I know mate but we know we didn't, screw what they think" Kan replied.

"it's not right Kan, I'm not having them talk shit about my mates" Champ said.

"well what do you plan on doing?" Kan asked him.

"I think it's about time they realised who they are dealing with" Champ said.

"no mate, there's no need for that" Kan said.

Champ might not have told Kan that Iris Slater wasn't his grandmother but as his best friend he had told him everything else and Kan knew that Champ hadn't wanted people to know his other secret.

"think carefully Champ and calm the fuck down, once it's out there'll be no taking it back" Kan said.

Everyone else didn't have a clue what the guys were talking about so all they could do was listen and offer support when necessary.

"I've already thought it through Kan, it's something I must do or we're never going to have any peace, this is for you, Andy, Ian and myself too because it's only a matter of time before they start attacking Liam and I, they're going to have to realise that they can't just write shit about us and get away with it, the bastards" Champ said.
