The Black Mist

The Beginning

"Hello?" I shouted while walking into the greenhouse. It was pitch black and freezing, I could barely see anything, with the only light being the moon. "Is anyone there? I was sent by my teacher to retrieve something..." Everything went black, the moon's light gone. My eyes had closed.

The next thing I heard was a loud thud, that's when I could taste the cold, wet floor. I'd fallen to the ground. That's when this black smokey stuff started to surround me, covering every inch of my body.

Next thing I could remember, I'd woken in my dorm room with my 2 friends (and my only friends) beside my bed.

"AJ? Mia? What happened? Why aren't I in the greenhouse?" I had so many questions running through my head, like what was that black smoke? How did I even get here? But i couldn't ask much, my chest hurt so much, it felt like i was being impaled by 5 knives.

"We found you inside the greenhouse, Miss Green told us to go see if you were okay." Mia explained, she sounded a bit concerned as well. "Please tell us what even happened there." I wanted to tell them, but my chest hurt so much, so I just stayed silent. The only words I could get out were

"black smoke."

"Black smoke? But isn't that a sign of that demon king thingy?" AJ said, but Mia was a non-believer.

"Don't be such an idiot AJ, the demon king isn't real! He's just a stupid myth people made up hundreds, maybe thousands of years ago, nobody has actually seen him." Mia shouted, (although it sounded like a scream). "Don't listen to him, he's just being a dick" Mia rolled her eyes.

"OI, I heard that!"

"You were supposed to" AJ scoffed and he stormed out of the room, he's been called worse but he still gets in a mood when he's been called something he believes he's not. "Don't listen to him, he's just in a mood and believes in that silly stuff."

"I can tell haha..." I managed to force out, and then that's when I saw something in the doorway. Then i t disappeared right as I saw it.

"You okay?" Mia asked, I think she saw me staring at the doorway and she looked at it. "There's nothing there, why are you looking at the doorway?"

"Oh I just thought I saw something. Must've been in my head." I started to feel really exhausted all of a sudden and I started to doze off. Just as I was about to fall asleep though, I saw the thing again. Only this time it was next to the bed. Then i fell asleep.
