France
Since a young age I've always dreamed of this moment. Never in a million years would've I thought it would happen three years after graduation.Moving to France from America was a culture shock.
My first practice was as expected. This was a new beginning, a fresh start. The team was split, half doing drills and the other half conditioning. I expect some of the other players to be a little standoffish, but never plain rude.
Number 5, De Almeida, constantly giving me dirty looks. Everyone seemed to give me enough space to adjust, except her. By the evening I was ready to go home to my new apartment, or rather not.
I rushed home with my bags in my arms, ready to settled them down next to the door. I walked in and immediately went to my bedroom. My bed right smack in the middle of the room with just covers and one pillow. It was a rather sad sight really. The room still had a lingering smell of the people that had lived there previously. The only thing that was lingering on my mind was Almeida.
I was attempting to go to sleep when Ding!
Mom
How's France???? Any cute guys?
Penelope
It's okay actually. Just unsure about how they feel about me.
Mom
They'll warm up to you. How's everything going? Did you eat?
Penelope
I just got home so I haven't ate. I was planning on just sleeping it off. I've had a really long day.
Mom
Nellie!!! You have to eat you have practice most days!
Penelope
I'm fine, Mom. Thank you
Mom
Okay I'm just checking up on you. I'll let you sleep but please promise me you'll eat soon.
Penelope
Yes mom I promise I love you
Mom
I love you tooI decided to heat up some soup in the microwave. After that I took a shower to try to tire myself out so I can finally rest. I laid in the shower unsure about my decision to move to a completely new country without making any friends. Not like I had many back in the states. Constant moving made change easy but this change was new, it meant I had to start from scratch, alone. Finally, I get out the shower, brush my hair for tomorrow, and get in bed.
