My breathing felt heavy as I switched from jogging to full-on sprinting, and my lungs felt like they would give up on me. This was a horrible plan from the start, darn it. The trees were huge and weren't spread apart at all, so I had to move to the side every so often to avoid ramming right into one and temporarily slowing me down, which I couldn't let happen. Not to mention the roots that stuck out of the ground and could potentially trip me. A fall would be the death of me. Even worse, there were probably double the amount of bushes and shrubs all over this area, making my escape more difficult as my legs kept getting tangled in the vines and branches. At this rate, I won't be able to get away. Stupid nature. I hope they struggle to follow me through this hellish place.

With all these plants and trees, I should've known that this place had a bunch of those small, painfully thorny vines and bushes. Whenever one of these damned plants scratches me, it feels like I'm getting poked with needles. Within minutes of running past those evil plants, I've gotten myself scratched quite a lot, and my pants literally have small rips and tears in them. I sigh in annoyance and continue to run, my black hiking boots leaving behind almost unnoticeable shoeprints on the leafy forest floor. I'd like to see them try to catch up with me, heh. Not like I want them to though. That would spell the end for me. Noticing that the trees seemed to be casting longer shadows than they were moments ago, I realized that the sky must be getting darker as the breeze felt just a little bit stronger, the temperature slowly lowering. I definitely should've worn a thicker coat today.

I would hate to catch a cold, but oh well, nothing I can do about it. After a while of me running and dodging, I slow down a little, quickly wiping the sweat off of my face. I swear, this forest feels endless. It's like there's no way out. I've been running through this forest for what feels like hours! If I don't get out soon, I'm going to go crazy! But there is an exit, I just know it. Now filled with renewed energy, I increase my speed again, racing through the forest, the wind blowing my hair in my face. Ugh, really should've cut my hair when I had the chance as it keeps getting in my eyes. I wish I could take a break, because wow, my legs hurt like crap. Scratch that, my entire body is tired and aching. But I can't stop, not even for a minute. That would be too risky, and I just can't take any chances.

Suddenly, I clutched my forehead as an immensely strong headache overtakes me. "Ugh.." I groaned, my eyebrows furrowed as I began to stumble, losing my speed immediately. If felt as though someone used a jackhammer on my head. My body sways, and I shut my eyes tightly, trying to ignore the pain while still stepping forward. I quickly forgot about being careful, all I could focus on was how much it hurt, so I didn't realize that I tripped over a large root, which flung my body right off the edge of a cliff. I only registered what had just happened right when I fell. Am I.....going to die here? Oh god.....OH GOD!! I DONT WANT TO DIE!! thud I quickly hit the ground, and everything goes black.

Getting closer to whatever had that glaring light, I started to feel a bit calmer. With the light shining through the trees, I would see that the amount of bushes and trees were lessening, a sign that I was almost out of these woods at last. I knew I was right when I made it into a clearing, carefully stepping into it. A small, old building stood in the middle, and I breathed a sigh of relief, and a smile formed on my lips upon seeing its current state. The building looked like a lab, but I could hardly tell from the dilapidated condition, and it felt like it was abandoned for seemingly years, decades even. Vines are growing all over the walls, paint is chipping, and parts of the walls were falling apart, thin cracks forming. This was perfect. Nobody was here, and I could stay as long as I wanted. I'd be protected from the eIements, and anyone who is looking for me would never think to check here. I open the front door, which coincidentally was unlocked, and slowly in anticipation, my other hand was fidgeting with the edge of my slightly torn up coat. I just hope the inside isn't ruined and uninhabitable. I don't want to wander in the dark of night while in the woods. When the door opened with a quiet creak, I slowly step inside and then...BOOOM.
