"You're my biological mother, aren't you?" Sophie said. Oralie tried to pull free but Sophie's grip only tightened. "yes Sophie, I'm sorry for keeping it from you. I really am." Oralie mumbled, " But how did you know?" "You're a blond empath, plus empaths are terrible liars, I sensed it immediately!" Sophie said angrily. She looked at the small hot pink jeweled table where Oralie had placed her circlet and felt tempted to throw it out of the window and scream her head off at Oralie. " go ahead," Oralie said. Instead, Sophie slapped her (Oralie) hard and headed towards the door. But before she left, Sophie turned her head and told Oralie," Kenric would be here if it was not because of you."
Oralie went to a small corner of her sitting room and cried. She just cried and cried. Why does everyone around me die? First my parents, then Kenric, then Mr Forkle, and now, Sophie hates me, Oralie thought out loud to herself. Just then, a pair of arms wrapped around, and a familiar voice said at the very same time" That's not true, Oralie." It was her best friend Liora. This made Oralie jump. Liora immediately wanted to know everything so Oralie began telling her everything from her falling in love with Kenric to how she was related to Sophie.
Oralie knew that she should try making it up to Sophie but she knew that Sophie would forever hate. She could feel the guilt creep into her mind but she could not care to stop it. " I just need to rest, that's all." Liora nodded took her to her room.
But she could not sleep. She tossed and turned but all she did was stare into space. Kenric should be alive not you, he's so much better. I hate you! Oralie woke up gasping for air. When she looked up, she saw all the other 11 councillors staring at her. " What's going on? Why are you all here?" Oralie asked " You missed the early council meeting just now, so we came to see if you were okay, "Bronte replied.
Although Oralie insisted she was perfectly fine, Liora decided to bunk in with Oralie and Bronte would do an hourly check just in case.
