The Second Chance

I slowly opened my eyes to see myself floating in a vast void. I couldn't see anything to save my life if I didn't die to begin with.

Y/n: Right, I died saving a dog. Stupid assholes and their pit fighting. I sneak in easily enough, but I got spotted opening the cages and then proceeded to get beaten to death by all of the assholes there.

I stayed here floating in this void for what felt like hours, but in reality, it was only 10 minutes before something appeared in my face. It was a weird screen with text.

Screen: Congratulations! You have been chosen by the many gods to be reincarnated with this very system. Your next life will be like a video game.

Y/n: What? Am I reading this right? Reincarnation? A video game life? Awesome.

Screen: Now first things first and most importantly what species would you like to be?

The screen elongated with three options human, faunus, and Grimm hybrid.

Y/n: Screw the first two. I'm going for the cool, sounding one.

I put my finger on the Grimm hybrid selection, and the screen changed.

Screen: Are you sure? Yes. No.

Y/n: Well, humans don't specialize in anything in most games. When I saw the word faunus, I thought of a weird deer creature. So yes, I'm sure.

Screen: Grimm hybrid selected. Now, skills are being generated to be picked.

Given: Gamer's mind: Psychological attacks have minimal impact on the user, and illusions are see-through. Stress will be nonexistent to you. Lvl max.

Gamer's Body: Never have permanent damage to yourself and can regrow lost limbs overnight. Lvl max.

Unlocked after tutorial

Instant dungeon: Create a dungeon to level up and get stronger monsters inside the dungeon will be around your level. Lvl max.

Dungeon escape: Escape from your instant dungeon with slightly reduced rewards. Lvl max. Warning can not be used in combat.

Dungeon continuation: Finish the dungeon you escaped from and kill the boss. Lvl max. Warning monsters we'll be at or around your level still.

Please select two starting skills.

Retractable claws: Even though you were born with clawed hands, you learned how to retract them so you can use your hands like a person. Lvl max.

Charm: You have great looks and can easily get members of the opposite gender to like you. Lvl 1/20. Level will not affect people who hate you.

Water manipulation: You can control water to do your biding and will. Lvl 1/25.

I easily pick the first skill so I can use my hands normally. Then I went to tap water manipulation but closed my eyes happy with my choices. When I opened my eyes, I saw I hit charm instead. I begin mentally cursing at myself because of the stupid mistake.

Screen: Alright, now you will be sent to your new world.

The void around me got brighter and brighter before I was engulfed by the light. I opened my eyes and saw some kind of tinted glass and a man working. He hasn't noticed me yet, which I guess means he wasn't expecting me to wake up. I tried out the retractable claws for a moment when the screen came up.

Screen: New quest: Escape the Castle

Objective: Escape the castle of the Grimm queen before you are subjected to more experiments and turned against the world.
