The after match beers feels as the pleaseure after the duty of the hunt. The camaraderie blooms and bring the players together.
During that time the main theme of conversation was the national team and the upcoming Fifa World Cup. The general spirit was divided between hope and pesimism and even hatred for the players, fueled by sports journalism.
Nicholas felt there were two options to surrender to:
The fear of chasing an imposible goal, or taking a higher risk and beliving once again that miracles sometimes can happen.
It is interesting to point out how as a societiy we place our hopes not in our colective efforts, but instead in a messianic figure that will take us to victory.
Once again football astonished Nicholas with joy while watching the matches of the national idol, Lionel Messi.
At that time the genious of world football was compared with his predecessor Diego Maradona, while failing several attempts at his most important challenges of his incredible career:
A Copa America and a World Cup title.
Nicholas felt as a child who wanted the national team to win with all his heart.
It was not for the football title itself, and not for the sake of the sport neither.
It was something beyond: like desearing the fulfilment of a propheycy, a divine occurrence. A miracle that only reproduced by a hero in a miracolous odissey during his final attempt against all odds, tired, old, but once again trying the impossible.
The scenario glared with the celestial bright, of an ancient myth.
