Freedom and Care

Eugene grabbed her hand then Raphael said "Hold on tight." She elevated off the ground quickly and flew through the hole in the cave and slammed her head on a tree branch, causing her to drop Eugene a few inches from the ground and he looks at her and asks Are you okay, Raphael? He reached to his side and grabs a bottle of pre-made medical cream and said, "Why don't you come down here and walk instead? oh, I nearly forgot. Rub this on your head, it should work faster than magic."

She looks at him and lands beside him, grabbing the medicine and applying it to her head. The pain instantly vanished and she said in shock, "it doesn't hurt anymore! Thank you Eugene!" He smiled in response before beginning to collect the corpses of the monsters he killed earlier  and Raphael began to help and eventually asks him This is a lot of monsters, won't the weight slow you down? 

As he crouched down next to a goblin, he took the dagger from its grasp and began to cut off its ears then said "nah, my satchel can hold a lot more then two tons, something like this is nothing." 

Raphael was bringing a pile of monsters to him and said, here's the last of them, we should get going before- "The ground and trees shake as both a colossal red ogre stomps towards them and Raphael said, I still don't have enough power to draw my scythe, I take you have a plan, kid?

Eugene looks around at the monsters weapons and equipment and saw two arrows and an axe. He looks at her and said, Raphael! do you think you can buy me two minutes? I need to get some lumber to make this work! She nods and said "yeah, but i don't have much power left after 5000 years of banishment and being alone, do you have something I can use as a weapon?" He picks up the axe and said, You're surrounded by gear, use what you have at your surroundings! 

She looked around and saw a sword and picks it up then said, "it's light..." She charged at the ogre and cut its ankles, catching its attention while Eugene was finishing cutting down some trees and after awhile, Raphael shouts "I'm out of weapons! are you done yet!?" Eugene fused the final piece of ingredients into the gear he was making and said, "Done! Raphael, catch!" He threw a silver scythe towards Raphael caught it and she immediately powered up and flew towards the monster an cut it in pieces in four quick slashes. 

The weapon shattered as she returned to the ground and she ran towards Eugene and jump hugs him and cheerfully asks him "Did you see that!? did you see my skills with a scythe Eugene? well, this is new, I feel a bit... tired..." Raphael collapsed and Eugene carried her to his workshop and laid her on the couch, and tended to her injuries all night. 

At sunrise, Raphael opens her eyes and glances around her surroundings and then looked down and saw Eugene sleeping on the floor. She remembers events from the previous night and quickly looked at herself and saw that she had bandages wrapped around her hand and she looks at him then said "Eugene? you did this? you treated my injuries?" He sat up and said "yeah, I stayed up the rest of the night treating your injuries after carrying you to my workshop here. you did a great job last night Raphael, thanks for everything you've done."

Her eyes began to water and she said, even back in heaven, nobody would help me with my injuries, not even God... Thank you Eugene! you actually care about me!" she hugged him, crying in his chest and Eugene hugs her gently and said, "you're my friend, of course I care about you, Raphael. Besides, you healed me when I was hurt... remember?" 

She looks at him and showed a small, soft smile and said, I do remember. umm, Eugene- he shook his head and said, I'm not trying to win you over, but despite you being an angel, your still just a child, a very talented one at that... But... why be so reckless in battle!? you were heavily bleeding from two arteries in your wrist and arm! Raphael looked confused and said, Nobody ever wanted to train with me, because of my skills so I'm untrained in defense.

Eugene apologized an said, I'm sorry Raphael, that was wrong of me. Why don't I build you a portable training ground area device while you recover? She smiled and asks him "are you saying that-" Eugene nodded and said, I'll be your training buddy. Raphael's face was filled with joy and she sat back down on the couch and asks "how long until my injuries heal properly?"

He shrugs and said, "that's all up to your body, my friend."

Eugene stood up and headed towards the kitchen area and reached into the upper cabinets to grab some bottled ingredients and then reached into his satchel and grabbed a boar and places it on a table, grabs a knife and began to harvest the materials and meat. Raphael stood up and began walking around the room then she spotted a bookshelf and approached it. She looks across, down, and up at the book titles until she saw one labeled, "biology of monsters" She reached up at it, trying to grab the book, but she couldn't reach it. Eugene stopped what he was doing for a moment and took notice then walked over and asks, "This one, right?" He grabbed the book and hands it over to Raphael and she smiles innocently before running to the couch to begin studying.

Eugene returned to the kitchen and finished preparing breakfast and grabbed a loaf of bread then cuts the meat into slices, puts the slices on to bread and sandwiches them before bringing it to the table across from Raphael. He placed two plates of sandwiches on to the table and the smell almost immediately reached her nose and Raphael set the book down and asks, "What's that delicious smell?" Eugene sat in front of the table and asks "care to join me? these are my usual spicy boar meat sandwiches." 

Raphael stood up and approached the table and sat down. She looked at him and asks, You're, not going to eat? He smiled  and said, I want to see how you like my food first, Raphael. Eugene looks at Raphael as she smiled and said, I haven't eaten in over a millennia! She took a bite and her face turned red hot and then back to normal as she shouted "It's spicy but Delicious!"    

As they were eating, she remembered a question she had for him so Raphael asks, Hey Eugene? why did that scythe you made me shatter after I used it last night? he reached over and wiped some bread crumbs off from her cheek and said, you're making a mess. Anyways, you wanted to know why that spear shattered after one use? Well I have two answers for you Raphael. The first being that you put too much power into it when you used it, and the second is that it was made with weak monster material's.

She  nodded and ate the last of her meal before asking, What are we going to do today, Eugene? He stood up and said first we are going to get some materiel's for a new attire. Raphael looks at him and asked, So we're going to the forest again? He shook his head and said, nope, Raphael, your about to meet one of my old friends.
