Chapter 3-the new Alpha

Alexander woke up. It was still pitch-dark, with only the light of the full moon streaming through the round skylight. He looked around his room and suddenly froze. He saw the silhouette of a person standing next to Thomas's bed with a drawn knife. Suddenly, there was a faint scream, and Thomas's body went limp. Alex was paralyzed. However, he closed his eyes, hoping that it was all just a dream.When he woke up, he had to face the harsh reality: Thomas with a knife in his throat, and the bedsheet soaked in blood. Noah and Felix were still asleep, as if nothing had happened. Slowly, he approached the corpse. A small note lay on it. Alexander quickly read it."Alexander,come to the lake south of the school at midnight.Nothing will happen to you if you come.Demons"Alex was startled. How did they know he was here, and why did they kill Thomas? But one thing was clear: he had to go to that lake to find out who the murderer was.He quickly pocketed the small note. Afterward, he screamed to wake the others. A short moment later, Professor Whiteford stormed into the room and was equally shocked.An hour later, the room was completely sealed off. Felix cried, Noah was still in shock, and Alexander couldn't believe it. They were given the day off from classes, but instead of being able to recuperate, they were questioned by the police. Alexander noticed, however, that it wasn't the regular police; they had a small emblem on their chest with the inscription below: "Akadia."After the interrogation, he went to the infirmary to rest. Before he knew it, he was sound asleep. Suddenly, he heard a muffled noise. When he looked up, he saw that the large oak door was closed, indicating that everyone was now asleep. Initially, Alexander wanted to go back to sleep, but he remembered the small note he found in the morning. Once he noticed that it was already 11:30 PM, he quickly got dressed and went to the door. "Damn, it's locked!" he thought as he futilely rattled the door. Then he noticed an open window. Hastily, he climbed outside. Instead of descending normally, he slipped and fell. A moment later, he landed on soft moss. He looked around and saw a small lake nearby. As fast as he could, he ran down.Suddenly, as he stood on the shore, a hand covered his mouth, and he heard a soft voice from behind, "Just be quiet, Alexander. I'll take you to the hideout in the cave." Alex didn't expect much from a hideout in a cave, but when he was inside, it looked extremely cool. It was a small rock city with many smaller apartments. In the center was a training ground where a girl his age was fighting against a robot. The person who brought him in took off their Japanese demon mask. Noah's face appeared. "I have a lot to explain to you," said Noah.He explained that this was the hideout of the Demons, and their goal was to overthrow the king of their country, Akadia. He also mentioned that the secret organization used to be the royal guard of the old king and that the current king had him murdered. "And you are the reason we are here. You are the reincarnation of the old king, and we had to kill Thomas; otherwise, he would have killed you. Half the kingdom is searching for you, and he was an assassin of the king. After your predecessors created this group, you are now the new Alpha. And just so you know, my real name is Elias, but everyone here calls me Beta. Noah was just a code name," said Elias.Now, Alexander had become the Alpha of a secret organization.
