Champ and Liam went down to Kiri and Kan's house early the following Sunday morning, the guys were heading to the airport to return to Thailand. The helicopter was on it's way and everyone was feeling a little sad to be departing.

Kan's mum and dad hadn't come to see him off this time, Sheila was busy in the bed & breakfast and Sucharit had to go to work so they had said goodbye the previous evening but Betty had come to say farewell to her only son Ian.

"I'll text you as soon as we land mum, I'm going to miss you" Ian said.

"I'm going to miss you too son but don't worry, I'll be ok" she smiled hugging her boy.

"I'll take good care of him Mrs Banks" Phikhuam said.

"please, call me Betty or even mum if you like" she said.

"very well, we'll come back again as soon as we can" Phikhuam replied.

"just keep in touch, that's all I ask" Betty said.

It wasn't long before the whirring of the helicopter blades could be heard,

"I'm going to miss you guys" Champ said.

"gonna' miss you too" Kan said and Ian and Andy both nodded.

"looks like I'm on hedgehog duty again" Champ laughed.

Liam was saying goodbye to Phikhuam, and thanking Kiri and Kan for everything they had helped him with,

"thank you again Kiri, I don't know what I would have done if you and your team of lawyers had not helped me"

"you're welcome Liam, I'm glad he was able to extricate you from the contract, have you decided on your next course of action?" Kiri asked.

"I have but I want to talk to Champ first" Liam smiled.

"understood, well stay healthy Liam and one way or another we'll see you again soon" Kiri added before turning to say goodbye to Champ.

"see you again soon Champ and take care" Kiri said holding his hand out for Champ to shake.

"see you Kiri, look after my bro" Champ said.

"always" Kiri replied.

The chopper landed on the helipad top of Kiri and Kans property and the guys made their way up to the roof where there were hugs and handshakes all round and a few damp eyes as Lon, Andy, Phikhuam, Ian, Kiri and Kan climbed on board.

Kiri's security team had flown on ahead.

Champ put his arm round Betty's shoulder to comfort her though she was putting on a brave face. Ian had made alternative arrangements for his patients but would keep in touch with them from Thailand.

He would start work next week in the company infirmary at KJ Advertising, the same company where Andy spent a lot of his time and in the meantime he would be living with Phikhuam in his apartment.

Champ, Liam and Betty watched in silence as the helicopter rose in the sky then waved as it rotated to change direction before it sped away across the sky towards the airport.

"you alright Betty luv" Champ said, he was always the one who picked up the pieces.

"yes dear, I'll be ok, I had to let him go some time, I couldn't keep him with me forever" Betty said.

"how are you getting home?" Champ asked.

"we came in Ian's car, I'll drive that back" she replied.

"well look, here's my number, give me a call if you need anything or even if your a bit fed up, don't be sitting on your own getting depressed" Champ said handing her his business card.
