I ended up dropping Mason off at my moms for the next two days because I just needed a break, I love my baby boy so much; but I really needed some me time.
I honestly felt so guilty about dropping him off, but my mom assured me that he'd be fine and that he'd have toys to play with.
One of my really good friends Camila was over my place, we were catching up since we hadn't seen each other in a while. She used to work at the restaurant with me, but quit for a better opportunity.
I don't blame her at all honestly.
Leaning against my kitchen island two boxes of Marcos pizza sat at the end of the island. I held the piece of paper in my hand with Chris's number on it, contemplating on if I should even text him. I had been so busy with work and Mason that I didn't have time to even thank him for helping me at the store two weeks ago.
"Just text him, I'm sure he'll be glad to hear from you." Cam said with a smile before taking a bite out of her slice of pizza.
"I don't know," I sighed washing my hands at the kitchen sink so that I could grab myself some pizza from the box. "he probably doesn't even remember me."
"Give me the phone, I'll do it." Cam joked, but before I could protest against it she grabbed my phone and took the paper unfolding it and typing his number in, I reached over trying to get my phone as her fingers moved quickly against the screen.
"Here you go, mission accomplished." She smiled before we both laughed, I threw a crumbled up napkin at her and shook my head, I thought my heart was going to fall out of my ass.
"Cam! what did you even say!?" I questioned looking down at the text to see that it was a simple "Hey Chris. It's Tae:)" but the bubbles at the bottom of the screen danced before my phone vibrated in my hand.
Chris: hey beautiful, how are you and Mason? Everything okay?-4:45pm
I smiled to myself and typed away at my screen before sending another message, I could feel Cam's eyes on me as I locked my phone and slipped it into my pocket.
"What Camilaaaaa." I laughed as she shook her had smiling like a fool, this girl was really something else.
"Nothing boo, just thank me when y'all get married."
"Get outta my house girl," I laughed. "besides, I'm not really wanting to date right now. Mason is my top priority."
Cam nodded in understanding before sighing. "I understand boo, I really do, but based off of what you told me already about Chris, he seems to be very understanding of Mason. He just knows your a single mom and sometimes single moms do need extra help."
