Loretta POV
I was on Taylor's private jet on the way home to Nashville. It was just me, her, our assistants, and security. She wanted to know all about Kit. Of course I told her everything. I then asked what she thought of him. She smiled and said she really liked him. She said he treated me very well. I sighed with relief to hear her say that. I respected her so much and to hear that she approved of the guy I liked made me happy.
I then went on a tangent about how excited I was to be home. She agreed with me. Although her house was technically in New York, Nashville would always be home. We had two shows here and then a week long break before our next shows. She asked me why Kit hadn't come with me. I told her he was on vacation for a few more days with his friends and then they were going back to England. She just nodded smugly, though I wasn't sure why.
My assistant, Daniel, sat next to me and laid out my planner. We started to go over our schedule. We'd be in Nashville for about a week and a half. After that, we had shows in Philadelphia, New York, Chicago, and Detroit. Then, it was England. We'd be there for almost two weeks at many different stadiums. I was so excited. I hadn't told Kit about it yet, but we'd get to see each other a lot. Though, I couldn't help but feel nervous for some odd reason.
After those two weeks, we had a month long break. Daniel asked if there was anything I'd like to do so he could plan it. I looked at Taylor and asked if she was planning anything. She said she didn't have much besides a 4th of July party at her house in Rhode Island. Without missing a beat, she said I was more than welcome to invite Kit. I thanked her and asked if I could bring a few more people. She said that was fine with her and to just let her know. I said I would and asked Daniel to find out if my mom wanted to do anything over my break. He nodded his head and went back to his seat. The plane would be landing soon. I checked my phone to see a message from my mom. She was waiting at the airport with my dad and brother. I just sent a quick 'okay' and continued talking to Taylor. We were talking about what my surprise songs should be. It was Nashville, so they needed to be good. We bounced around some ideas: Ol' Red, The Thunder Rolls, Fancy. The ideas were all great, but I couldn't decide on any yet.
The pilot said to stay seated as we were landing. I put away my laptop in my bag and put my shoes back on. The descent wasn't terribly long. We landed smoothly on the runway and came to a stop near some cars. Once the door was open and the stairs were down, we exited the plane. I had my backpack over my shoulder and my phone in my hand. Someone called my name. I looked over to see my mom and I ran to her. She squeezed me so hard I thought she might kill me. When she finally let go, I turned and hugged my dad. The last to hug me was my brother, Hank. He then offered to carry my backpack. I passed it to him as a driver opened the door. My mom and I climbed in while Hank and my dad got my luggage and helped put it in the trunk. Daniel leaned into the car and said he'd see me in a few days. I hugged him and he got in his car to go to a rental. I offered to let him stay with us, but he insisted on staying on his own.
Dad got into the front seat of the car and Hank got in with Mom and I. I felt terrible for the driver because my dad would definitely talk his ears off. Jack was on his way home to see his family. He'd be driving me in a few days, but I thought he might like some time off to relax at home. He was grateful for this and thanked me many times. Mom began telling me what all she was making for dinner. I was so excited. I eat well on the road, but nothing compares to my mom's cooking. She was making a classic southern dinner, which I'd really missed.
It took about thirty minutes to make it home. I ended up dozing off on Hank's shoulder because of how little I slept last night. He let me sleep and woke me up when we got home. The driver opened our door and we piled out. Dad and Hank got my bags from the back for me. I rushed inside to see my dog, Willie. He rushed straight to me and jump in my arms. I held him and sat down on the floor. He licked my face entirely before calming down. My mom was laughing when she saw us.
