January 19th, dear diary, I found out whom the culprit was. A group of gangsters were hired anonymously to take her out with very specific orders. The gang only agreed because they would get rewarded a large sum of money, nevertheless, they still went to court and were pledged guilty, sentenced to a few dozen of years in the Forteress of Meropide with the Duke. There was still one question, one culprit hidden behind the veil, the person who bribed the gangsters into killing, and why...

Why her? She didn't have any sort of criminal records nor did she have any enemies, it's so... out of the blue that she died... I wasn't that close to her but I knew she was a good person so to see her as she winded up... it's unsettling.

However, I found out there was going to be a play in the coming week, I could take that as a chance to get my head out of the clouds and relax, sit back and enjoy myself. Get to admire him.

End of January 19th entry

I closed my diary and turned back to my now, picture-filled cork board. In the centre, a picture of the ballerino with a question mark on the bottom marge. Now starts my search for his identity, to find out who is this mysterious individual...

— — — Flash Back — — —

Today is January 13th, it's currently 4AM, the sun has yet to rise and my cat —Shiroi— just jumped on my face because he wanted food. What a great way to start the day.

I get out of bed, go to the bathroom and wash my face, noticing the big dark eye bags on my face, I almost looked like I was a zombie. All the work recently has been piling up and as one of the best employees, I tend to get a fairly larger workload, tell me about fairness, huh?

After that, I walked out and made my way to the kitchen to serve me and Shiroi some breakfast. I took some canned tuna and emptied it in Shiroi's bowl. After that, I started cooking my own breakfast. Some stir-fried vegetables with an omelette, simple and nutritious.

A few minutes passed, I finished my breakfast and so did my cat so I washed my plate and made my way to the bathroom to brush my teeth, do my hair and get dressed for yet another day at work.

I shook the dust off my suit and put my coat on, saying farewell to Shiroi before leaving, giving him a soft scratch on the head. I got up and made my way to the door, key in hand as I closed and locked my apartment door.

On my walk to work I felt... observed... like someone had their eye on me. I looked back and around my surroundings but no one seemed to be doing suspicious activity nor looking at me weirdly... it was probably nothing.. I hope..

When I made it to work, I was greeted by some of my coworkers and I waved back at them as I made my way to my chair. I was really investing all my time in the murder case, the other ones were futile compared to what happened then. I had to find out whom did this.

Hours on hours of looking between the lines, I finally found a location! A run down shed in the city outskirts, it was abandoned after the owners left to live closer to the city. The place hadn't been visited in years and no one came across it, until recently a few gangsters decided to 'renovate' the place and make it their hideout.

I got dressed and made my way out of the office, destination: City outskirts.

I arrived right on time, the aquabuses we're about to leave and there was almost no places left. I excused myself for arriving so late and made my way in, sitting down, waiting for the aquabus to start. I knew there was a stop a few minutes away that would be close enough to the gangster hangout, so I waited patiently until my stop. A dozen minutes later, I got off and made my way to the shed.

Throughout the whole walk, the cold wind made my neck hairs stand up, chills running down my spine, and for more reasons than just the cold breeze. I felt watched again... I looked around a bit and no one was around, there weren't even trees to hide behind. I shrugged the gut feeling off and continued off to my destination. I guess it was just a hunch, huh?..

When I arrived, yeah, the place sure was run down. There was a hole on the roofing made of old metal scraps, a rusted colour of orange and grey. Borderline "touch it and it'll give you tetanus along with several other terminal diseases". Anyway, the place was very run down but packed with suitcases of primordial water, which I had no idea why it was there, second of all, weapons such as knives, daggers, swords, axes, saws and a few revolvers, finally, the place was painted with several dark brown stains.

Dried blood.

From the colour and strong stench, it was clearly very old, lasting over 4 weeks. Around the time she was killed. This was the place. This is where my colleague was tormented, tortured and killed.

January 15th, case closed, we found and confirmed the killers, they were brought to custody and pledged guilty after the Oratrice Mécanique d'Analyse Cardinale confirmed everything. They were sentenced for a few dozen years in the Fortress of Meropide. Finally the murder was solved, may the soul of my colleague rest calmly knowing her tormentors have been punished.

I finally finished all my work, it was 9PM, I had to fill more documents about a few small neglected cases and normal paperwork. All the typical stuff.

I got up from that dreadful office chair and stretched. My muscles felt so numb... maybe the walk home would help me feel better.

I got dressed and grabbed all my stuff, making my way to the door, say good bye to all my coworkers, waving and giving small smiles.

On my way home, it had been the third time today I had felt stared at from the back, goosebumps showing up on my arms as I couldn't help but feel a chill down my spine.
I decided to not do any rash movements and instead continue walking forward, only looking around with my eyes to try and catch a glimpse of whomever was behind me.

At the turn of a street, I caught the slightest peek of a dark figure, but it was too dark and the street lights didn't illuminate the person, however I was now sure someone had been watching me from close behind...

I started walking at a faster pace, keeping my chin high and back straight, not making it seem like I was scared when, to be fully honest, I feared for my life. Who knows if what happened to my coworker may happen to me next..?

Five minutes later, I arrived home and I think I had lost the stalker or whoever that might have been... I leaned against my door and let out a long sigh of exhaussement, that's when Shiroi came to rub itself against my leg and meow. 'At least this day had one good part to it' I thought as I scratched gently behind Shiroi's soft ears.

Hello again my lovely, wonderful readers~ I missed you all! Here's a brand new chapter for all you, I hope you enjoyed it. I'll say it again, if murder, stalking, creepy obsessions and more of that stuff freaks you out or triggers you, please stop reading and go read something that doesn't scare the shit out of you, it's for your own good <3 the plot will only get worse and worse with more death and continuing to read something that clearly makes you feel uneasy is bad. By the way, happy late New Years!!

Hope all of you had a wonderful splendid day and if you didn't, I hope I made it better... or not. But the point is, I hope your day can get better!
