"Okay, what's going on? Who killed Amir?!" I asked hurriedly to Frank, my private investigator.

"Well it seems as if the night Amir was murdered, he was leaving the hospital. He traveled 3 miles down the road and stopped at 4 red lights. On the fourth red light he stopped at, someone was in his backseat waiting on him. He rose from the backseat and shot him twice in his temple. Did you know that Trinity?" He asked.

"No." I whispered.

"Once Amir was shot, the killer then placed the gun in Amir's hand, making it look like an amateur suicide. Unknowingly, the killer left several tissues of his DNA which I have already had my wife send down to the lab. It came back with a man by the name of Larry Jackson. Do you know who that is Trinity? "

My heart had stopped.

"Oh my god. No. " I whispered.

"Yes, Trinity. "

It had all become to much as my heart rate increased. My breathing quickened and I had began to feel dizzy. I quickly grabbed my bag and left.

I jumped into my car and sped back to school just in time to pick Amir up.

I just wanted to spend time with my son before we had to head back to that hell hole of a home. So I drove to the icecream shop down the street.

"Hello ma'am, welcome to Tasty's Icecream shop what can I getcha?" A perky brunette asked.

"Um a cookies and cream sundae, and a banana split." I ordered.

"Coming right up. "

I waited for our icecream and noticed Yasmine sitting in a booth with her daughter. I'm not the friendly type at all, so I walked past her without acknowledging her.

"Hey Trin, I haven't seen you today. " she spoke.

"Oh." I shrugged continuing walking to find a seat. Then I noticed they were all taken.

"You wanna sit with us? " Yasmine asked.

"I'm okay, we just gon' go home. " I said grabbing Amir's hand the best way I could while holding our icecream.

"You need some help?" Yasmine asked.

"Damn, Yasmine no. Why you keep asking me questions?" I said frustrated.

"I was just trying to be helpful, you look like you're struggling. "

"Well thankyou but no thankyou, I dont need your help. "

"Its okay to ask for help. " Yasmine spoke, her voice softer.

"Yeah, Okay. " I scoffed walking out of the icecream shop. Of course her and her daughter followed me.

I ignored her as I strapped Amir in his seat and placing our icecream in the passenger seat.

"Trinity! Wait! " Yasmine yelled.

"What?"

"Look, I know you're not very friendly, but it wouldn't hurt to make one friend. We both have more in common than what meets the eye. Have an open mind. You might not ever use it, but here's my number. In case you ever want to talk or hang out or have a play date. " she spoke handing me a piece of paper and walking off.
