The Last of Them

THAT just happened

Iight Jake get them up here. We're ready. I thought at him. I created two glasses and levitated them in the air. Instantly Charlie and Duke flew in from the roof entrance with two glasses containing liquids in them.

They poured our drinks into our glasses that I still had levitating in the air. Charlie poured milk into her glass and apple juice into mine. Yea I know those are her favorite drinks in the world. How do I know. Insanely powerful mind-reader, DUH.

I slowly moved the glasses down onto the table. Charlie and Duke flew backwards into the the roof entrance. Right after they were out of sight, James and Violet appeared beside the table with our plates. We both had Rainbow Salmon. How did they even get this?! Whatever it doesn't even matter they did a good job helping me.

"Have fun you two," said Violet. I smiled and waved politely. I worded thanks when they were almost gone. They repeated my actions mouthing no problem.

"Are you okay, Kitty?" I asked while putting my head on my hands that were folded on the table. She just gawked, amazed at the show she'd just been given.

"Y-y-yeah I-I'm good. Just w-wow." She stuttered uncontrollably. "I love the whole dome thing idea, the choreographied roles with the twins, the FISH, OH MY GOD IS THAT APPLE JUICE AND MILK!"

"Yep." I said popping the p.

"How did you know I like milk, let alone apple juice?"

"Lucky guess." I lied. I haven't told anyone about my mind-reading yet. It's better if they don't know. Not yet at least. Actually no one knows but Jake. He's trustworthy enough to know.

"It's kinda odd that you'd know my two favorite drinks in the world. But uh, should we eat now?" She asked looking straight at the fish.

"Yeah but I'm gonna pray. My mom was religious. It's just how I was raised."

"Okay" she responded. I closed my eyes and folded my hands on my lap, said a quiet prayer in my head, and signed myself as I opened my eyes. I was actually surprised to see her watching me.

"Why didn't you start eating yet?"

"I wanted to see how you pray. It's interesting. I've never really known a religious boy."

"Damn you make me sound perfect, chill plenty of religious people pray before they eat. You know blessing their food and stuff."

"Cool. I wanna try." She said folding her hands and closing her eyes. "God, bless my food that was so skillfully prepared by my friends. Let it nourish me and give me strength. Amen."

"Wow.... Well there's that." I said smiling. She really looked like one of the little kids in a chapel. Hands replicating the praying hands symbol on the front of the church, forehead on the top of their fingertips, eyes shut tight. It was adorable.

"Okay now let's eat." She said picking up her fork.

"Right."

We ate slowly talking in between sips of our classy drinks. One hour passed we were completely submerged in the glow of my light green dome. It was already dark outside I'd say it's about 9:45 p.m.

Jake that Salmon was amazing. Once again I thank you guys so much. I thought waved to him.
You're welcome I felt him wave back.

"Okay now what?" Kate asked staring straight into my eyes. Her eyes were beautiful. They glowed with a Saphire color.

"Well, since you asked..." I said getting up holding out my hand towards her. She took it and got up. I forced away the table, chairs and glasses. I guided Kate towards the edge of the building. I sat down on the edge. She stared at me.

"Oh come on. You're not afraid of heights are you?" I asked softly smirking.

"Yea a little bit."

"Damn okay hold on." I said pushing myself back to get up. I walked her away from the edge and created blankets. We sat down and lied back looking up towards the dome. I put my hand up and flicked my wrist as if shooing away a pesky fly and the dome disappeared.

We sat I silence probably both thinking about what to say. Finally after what felt like hours Kate spoke up.

"So you planned this whole thing out?"

"Yeah. I was trying to impress you."

"Hmmm well you didn't." It didn't take a mind-reader to know she was lying.

"You're funny you know that?"

"What do you mean?" She asked looking at me.

"You're lying. I'm not slow you know."

"Haha oh really I thought you were." We both laughed.

"Hey ummm do you see stars at night?" I asked now sitting up. She sat up a little while after. She looked up.

"Duh. We all do. Everyone with DA's can see things normals can't." I got up.

"Oh cool. But I don't think we can see that." I said pointing up.

"See what?" She said getting up trying to see what I was pointing at. I rolled my hands in the motion you'd do to make a clay ball. Lightning flashed into my hands. In the same ball shape I'd been creating. I threw it up in the air. It went a good 12 feet in the air (I have a good arm) but do to my ability it shot up at the peak of its arch. It shot up about 25 more feet in the air and exploded. Sparks flew every which way changing colors as they partitioned from each other.

"It's beautiful." Was all Kate managed to say.

"Just like you." I said standing closer to her looking straight at her. She blushed and dipped her head a bit letting some of her hair drop freely in a cute part hiding the right side of her face. The sparks landed on the ground surrounding us.

As I'd assume Kate was a little startled and moved closer to me. The sparks started to form a shape as it surrounded us. Kate yelped a little but calmed as she saw what was happening. The sparks turned into a magenta color then a blood red and formed a heart around us.

I pulled her by the small of her back with my left arm. I brushed the part of her hair out of the way revealing her caramel colored skin. The sparks created a romantic lighting radiating her skin.

She looked straight into my eyes as I tilted my head and dipped it down to kiss her. We kissed passionately and slowly. As usual though nothing goes this well for me so about five minutes into it we got really wet. I mean I was dripping but Kate was soaking wet.

Okay okay I've had my fun with words for now. Actually Charlie and Duke flew from the roof entrance and dumped water on us in the middle of our kiss. They laughed hard and flew back in. I formed some towels and we dried off and went back in but we slept in one of the guest rooms on the third floor instead of the couch. It was nice falling asleep with Kate in my arms.
