Four weeks passed since the exam and the talk with my brother

Four weeks passed since the exam and the talk with my brother. That night was like the start of a nightmare. I spent it trying to prepare myself for everything that would change, but when morning arrived nothing did. The military was thinking about how to deal with those things, but days started to pass with no change. So I did everything I could to forget about it. I promised my brother I wouldn't say anything to anyone.

My current worry was the bet I made with So-Yeon. Miss Park could enter the classroom with the notes today. Or maybe tomorrow. I tried to gather courage every day but when I walked inside the school, it disappeared alongside my will to live.

Feeling exhausted, I entered the classroom and lay down on my desk. So-Yeon has been bothering me since she found out I was trying to move on from my crush. So my master plan was to start avoiding her, or at least when she's alone. But after a few days of waking up early, it started to take a toll on me.

Slowly, everyone started to arrive.

"Knowing how much you hate waking up early, I'm surprised to continue to see you here this early," someone said.

Looking up my day was blessed. All my worries disappeared. 'God exists, I know it.'

"Good morning, Jan-Soo! I know, I'm surprised too. But desperate times require desperate measures." I answer cheerfully "But how did you know I'm not a morning person?"

"You told me some time ago. And you always look grumpy when you come to class" he laughs a little before continuing, "You furrow your eyebrows and pout for some time. It's cute."

I froze after hearing what Jan-Soo said. 'He thinks I'm cute? I felt my heart skip a heat. God, this is the best day of my life.' I smiled looking down at my desk, not knowing what to do. Is this a dream? If it is I want to continue sleeping.

Feeling brave, I looked at Jan-Soo only to blush. He was already looking at me with big eyes and red cheeks. My mind went blank, forgetting whatever I was going to say.

"Wow, so you were serious when you said you wanted to move on from your one-sided crush" an irritating voice was heard.

We looked towards the door where So-Yeon was standing with a big smile. 'That demon! She saw her chance to put me in a tight spot and took it'. I was feeling so embarrassed and, by the look on his face, Jan-Soo too. He took a step back raising his hands and shaking his head. 'Auch.'

"I don't know what you're talking about. We were just talking before you interrupted us" I said to So-Yeon before looking back at Jan-Soo "Thank you for that, you're quite cute too."

Turning back to my desk, I started planning my funeral. 'Quite cute? What the hell were you thinking?' I thought while taking my things out of my bag. From the corner of my eye, I saw Jan-Soo walking back to his desk from the corner of my eye. I allowed myself to relax a little bit now that I didn't have his attention, but not completely since he was my desk neighbor.
