'So, apparently. I have superpowers now...?'

'I couldn't help but be in awe at this new development, as I stared at my favorite mug, shattered to pieces on the floor.'

'I didn't really have a choice. I couldn't be distracted by such things right now."

'Going back in time a bit.'

'I, Ray Alpin, am an average 32-year-old living on my own."

'After graduating from a normal college and living on my own for over ten years, the things that I have to show for it are this.'

'Dating? Nonexistent'

'Marriage prospects? 0%'

'Friends? It's bothersome, so I just stay at home and relax rather than hang out with my coworkers after work.

'Just an average dude working a boring office job, living through the daily grind to pay for my monthly rent.

'When I compare myself to others my age, I should already be happily married and on my way to having kids.'

'When I put things like that, I sound like I should be depressed. But I'm a humble man, give me a PC and my mugs and I'm good to go.'

"Phew..."

'I can't help but sigh as I come home after a long day at work.'

'I need to put my shoes away but...'

Thunk!

'Nobody's gonna care if I leave it on the floor. Not like anyone's here anyway.'

'I watch as my shoes roll on the front entrance floor as I massage my neck and walk to the kitchen.

Flick

I turn on the lights in the kitchen and see the time displayed on the oven.

'12:04 huh, I got home pretty late today. I would've gotten home sooner if it wasn't for that damn boss handing out work like it's candy on Halloween.'

'The overtime is nice though, so I can't really complain there...'

'I don't have time to cook anything, let's just make a bowl of cereal. It's morning now, so it's fine.'

'I go over to make my coffee like I usually would, but, I still have work tomorrow, I can't stay up all night.'

'I'll just make some tea instead or something.'

'I go to the cabinet to see what teas I have in stock.'

Creeak~

"..."

'I open the cupboard and see multiple empty shelves.'

'As it turns out, I don't have anything...'

"Hmm?," My eyes catch a glimpse of an old box peeking out from the top shelf.

"It seems I actually do have something."

I reach my hand out to the top of the shelf and lightly pull out an old box of black tea.

'Its caffeine content is pretty similar to coffee, but it should be fine.'

'I spin around to reach over to the cabinet door right next to the previous cabinet and see my wide array of specialty coffee mugs.'

"Hmm, which one should I use today?"

'I say to myself in a hum.'

'Should I use my blue and orange polka dot mug? Or should I use my good old green mug?'
