It's the 86th minute of Westbury v Avon runners 0:0. Lacey Clinton is running up the pitch with the ball nicely controlled. She easily defends herself from the tacklers trying to stop her from changing the game. Without thinking she shoots and as soon as the ball hits the back of the net, the crowd erupts. Lacey Clinton. Forward, goal scorer and major heartthrob.

Clapping her hands and cheering as if world hunger had just been solved, Jenna Williams was clinging onto her best friend for dear life.

"We've done it! She did it, El! Lacey Clinton scored the winner!" Ellie just stood there with a slight smile on her face, looking down at Jenna. She was the only reason she even attended this match.

Jacob had his hand resting on the small of Ellie's back, lightly tracing the tiny tattoo of a butterfly she had displayed from her cropped top.

As soon as she felt him making contact with her skin, several nerves sent messages to her brain telling her to shove him off. But she couldn't. And she wouldn't.
Jenna continued screaming like her life depended on it, not even noticing Ellie tense up.

Once the match was officially over, Jenna grabbed Ellie's arm and guided her to the front of the stands, where the players usually go to sign shirts and take pictures with fans. Naturally, Jacob came too, continuing holding onto his girlfriend.
"Oh my god oh my god Lacey is coming this way!" Jenna screeched, whilst deciding which of her shirts with Clinton 24 on the back she wanted signed.

Ellie just huffed and rolled her eyes, knowing this decision had already taken up far too much of Jenna's life. Plus the fact that Ellie hated Lacey Clinton. Not for any particular reason, mind you, except for her cocky demeanour and larger than life ego.
Sure enough, Lacey made her way through the substantial swarm of fans until she reached Jenna.

As Jenna's pen made contact with her home 23/24 shirt, Lacey looked up to see who she was signing for. Instead of looking into Jenna's dark hazelnut eyes, she met a pair of sky blues ones. Blinking a few times and a slight blush forming at her cheeks, Lacey looked away. Instead of being equally as flustered by the accidental eye contact, Ellie just kept focused on the hand still remaining on her back. Jenna was still far too overwhelmed to notice the blush on Lacey's cheeks or Ellie's now completely faded countenance. After the shirt had been signed and a few courteous words had been shared, Lacey walked away with a newly bright smile on her face. She knew that for certain, those bright blue eyes would be in her mind for the rest of the evening.

Next to the trio was a tall, fashionably dressed blonde woman, who, had such an air of confidence and self purpose it was obvious to all that she wasn't just anybody. Alessia Russel, Lacey Clinton's much loved girlfriend. Alessia reached her hand out to hold her partner's arm and give her a little kiss on the forehead. Although the crowd was still roaring, Ellie could make out a little of their conversation.

"I'm so so proud of you baby! You did so well," Instead of being grateful, Lacey just held a smirk on her face and nodded. Although this was the norm for Lacey and should have been expected, Ellie still scoffed and held a firm scowl on her face, eyebrows dipped and mouth turned down.

"So damn cocky," She whispered to herself.

"What was that, babe?" Jacob questioned, this time keeping his arm wrapped tightly across Ellie's shoulder.

Ellie didn't know why, but she didn't want to tell anyone else her thoughts. She just continued watching Alessia staring into Lacey's eyes with as much passion and love as she wished she could have with her boyfriend.

Sure, he was relatively smart, kind and loving, there was still something very wrong. He was a boy.

Ellie has known something was different about her for a while. No, not in a 'I'm so quirky pick me!' way, but in a 'I don't know why I don't love you, Jacob' way.

They'd been dating for close to a year now, and although nothing particularly had gone wrong, the sparks were just not flying.

After a few minutes of Jenna crying of joy and Alessia practically eating Lacey's face alive, Ellie had decided that was enough. She grabbed Jenna's hand and led the three out of the stadium.

What she didn't realise, however, was that someone was looking back at her leaving, with the same smirk on her face as usual, but this time, a special glint forming in her eyes, reserved only for the annoyed looking blonde.
