It was a normal day, including school along with bowling after. I remember this day in particular because it was the day I met my best friend and forever soulmate. It was a match day for our bowling team, and we were against rolling meadows high school. I didn't think much of it until I met ✨her✨. I just remember her fluffy red hair half up half down, with a curtain bang on one side, and me trying not to get flustered and focus on the match. I'd seen her around the alley before, with her superior bowling skills, and one of the most elegant and perfect releases I'd ever seen. Before I knew her, I told myself that even though I thought she was really cute, she was my opponent, my competition. I just remember thinking that she was way out of my league to even talk to me, so I decided not to push it. The first time I noticed her, was during a practice and she had her classic black K-9 hat on backwards. She was just sitting at one of the tables looking down at her phone, and in that moment I thought she looked so pretty. But I thought in that moment that she would never want to talk to someone like me, so I never got the courage to start a conversation. When we finally did compete against each other, I was introduced to her by one of my other friends, and we actually small talked a bit. I learned her name and that she was super hyped up on sugar and caffeine from monster drinks. I remember asking my friend if she was single but unfortunately at the time she was dating someone else. But that was the greatest day of my life. She texted me that night and I got the biggest smile on my face when I saw who the message was from. Little did I know that that one night would change everything from then on.
As time went on, we became a trio, her, my other bestie who introduced us, and me. We were three peas in a pod, always chatting and hanging out at my house. One night after watching our usual Saturday night cuddles and movie, we got bored so we decided to play truth or dare. We wanted it to be interesting because well, we're teens, and we downloaded a game app on one of our phones. Of course it was one with dares that included kissing or making out or other questionable non-just-friends things. But what it eventually led to was me kissing her for the first time. Truth is, I've wanted to for a long time but I was too cowardly too, plus the fact that she was dating someone. But besides that it was an amazing night. I could tell that over time my friendship with her grew greater than it was with my other bestie, and we became so close that I felt like I could tell her anything. So one night I was in Wisconsin for a few days and we decided to text each other. We confessed a lot to each other that night, including the fact that we liked each other. I told her how I'd had a massive crush on her even before we met, and she told me that she felt something the night we kissed. I think that was the night that I realized I was starting to fall for her. And ever since, that love has grown more and more with each passing day. She has no idea how amazing she is and just how much she changed my life for the better.
