Don't you ever just go to sleep one night and wonder what it would be like to never wake up? I have thought about the scenario many, many times. I have always wanted to know what it was like to be snapped out of this despicable world for once. There was one morning that for months I have wished I would've never woken up. Over time, I realized that if I ever died, I would have never experienced some of the best days of my life. Someone once told me that every glow stick has to break first before it glows. That saying is true, but I'm pretty sure if my life was a glow stick, it would be snapped in half and someone drank the fluid.

I heard the vexatious reduplicating sound of my alarm going off. I stared up at my ceiling, even though I was really looking into the dark void of my room. I trudged into the bathroom, and I looked at my reflection in the mirror. The only thing I saw was a ghost with eye bags staring at me. I got dressed in my school uniform, and we are the only school in the county that has to wear them. No one knows why, they probably just want us all to feel miserable. I walked down stairs, grabbing every beer can laying around, and emptied out the leftover liquor in the sink that had a strong fume that filled the kitchen. I walked outside, The shining crescent moon shone like a silvery claw in the night sky, and up at the blanket of stars that stretched to infinity.
My old crumbling home sat on a hill and a long stretched road going down from it. At the end of the road, you could hear cars passing through.I could still smell the scent of mildew, and wet cigarettes on my clothes. My parents aren't home, they probably got really drunk last night and passed out somewhere. It was only a matter of time before a policeman tracked me down to give me their useless pile of limbs completely intoxicated, and unaware of their own surroundings. I walked down the side of the road, the wet grass soaking my shoes. I stopped at the old abandoned building on the corner where me and my friends hang out after school everyday. The place was old and no one goes there anymore. I looked at its old sign above the corroding panels on the roof. The shoddy wiring around it made it distinctly look like it was going to cause an electrical fire someday.
I usually leave two hours earlier for school, because I like to take my time, and enjoy my morning. This morning I spent my time at the park. I swung on the swings kicking rocks and twigs, and I climbed up on the slide to watch the sunrise.
When I finally got to the school, I came across my best friend Frankie. He was leaning against the wall in the lobby. He was on his phone and not paying attention to anything around him. I slapped the brick wall, right up against his head.
' What's up Frankenstein?'
He shut off his phone, and sloughed his shoulders, ' Don't call me that, people can hear you,' He hissed.
I scoffed, jerking my head back, ' Do you really think I would care?'
' I mean, if you decide that you want to be nice to me today then yes. Yes I do.'
I leaned against the wall, and sighed.
' When will that day come?' I asked, looking out into the distance.
' Hopefully soon,' he grumbled.
The first bell for homeroom rang, and I looked back at Frankie, ' I guess I'll see you later.'
I watched Frankie put his phone in his pocket, and pick up his backpack from the floor. I started to walk away and I looked back at him, ' Loser.'
