𝐈𝐓'𝐒 prom night for the students of West Valley High School. Some couples have broken up but are going to prom anyway, some couples' relationships are on the rocks but are going to prom anyway.

Since it was also spring, Ava, Ali, and Bobby also received their acceptance letters to UCLA and were accepted.

Nettie, Freya, and Rebecca took Ava to Wild Orchid Salon, a reputable hair salon in the Encino area. While Ava had a fishtail braided low bun, a few strands that hung loose around her face, and those pieces were loosely curled, Freya and Rebecca got their highlights touched up, while Nettie got her signature auburn color added to her hair.

"So tell us about the romantic proposal from this handsome man of your's." the hairstylist named Janette said as she worked on Ava's hair. "From what we have heard from your aunts, he's a real sweetheart."

Ava softly chuckled as she sipped her strawberry infused water. "Well, let's start from the very beginning shall we? After my parents and I moved here from England, Bobby was my first friend, and we were inseparable. Then came our freshman year. Life happened and got in the way, but we found our way back to one another and started dating. We spent our spring break in New York where he proposed."

"If you ask me, I think it's the sweetest thing." Rebecca smiled as a hairstylist added highlights to her blonde hair

"I know I made the right decision by saying yes, but people are going to say we're too young." Ava said.

"Sweetheart, you can't listen to what people say. My Jody proposed to me in high school as well. We were told we were never make it, 40 years and two beautiful children I wouldn't change a thing." Janette smiled as she added hair spray go Ava's hair. "I love him with all my heart and soul." Janette said

Nettie, who sat next to Ava, smiled as she spoke. "Love. That's a very important factor in any marriage darling. I can tell you about love." As Nettie began to tell her story, the women in the salon, listened, including Ava. "Raymond... that's my husband's name. We had a love so strong, that it just seemed like we were one. I would get ready to tell him something, and he would open his mouth and say the very thing I was about to tell him."

Ava gave a watery smile as the older woman told her story. It reminded her so much of Klaus and Diana. She had heard Bobby speak of his grandfather before, but he had passed away when Bobby was younger, so he didn't really remember him.

"Do you ladies have any idea how frustrating that was sometimes? Oh I couldn't stand it. Then my favorite moments were those times when I would just lay my head on his chest, just to listen to his heartbeat. And then one night, I realized that his heartbeat, matched mine." Nettie smiled, then it quickly faded. "Rhythm's off now that he's gone."
