Underneath the Telescope

1-A journey Ethereal

                 

                          Moss inspecting, Just like Croc had been doing for the past few months, In a town like Hazera, No one wanted to hire a scientist, They wanted farmers to grow food, Doctors to help cure diseases, No-one had any spare change for someone who willingly became a scientist, But I know I am destined for greatness, But my greatness starts with moss inspection, With time, I noticed something interesting, The moss was growing from somewhere, I had to investigate, I walked closer and closer until I found something; a cave, one that I knew very well, The forbidden cave, The one that the miners that used to work there when I was younger warned against, Where they had said that many had gone and never returned, And also, the place where my aunt disappeared.

Had it not been that my brothers had taken me in I would have been moved to an orphanage and would never be able to dream of making anything of myself, I feel anger bubble inside of me and with rage I kick a pebble into the cave but trip on my feet and end up falling headfirst into the cave, What I feel is an unearthly experience, I feel as if I'm bubbling in mid air, and earth as I know it is leaving me, I manage to open my eyes, And there is someone looking at me keenly from the corner with a look of surprise, Spotting me they murmur ''Your not supposed to be here'' and then as the purple and pink air started to fade, I landed hard, On something surprisingly soften than I thought.

I looked at my surroundings. It seemed I was at the end of the cave, Yet it looked like nothing I had seen before in Hazera, I only remember that thought and then it all became blurry

I woke up in someone else's bed. I knew that as this was way too comfy to be mine, My brothers were well off but with my whole independence mantra, I was paying for everything in my room. Did I drink too much to last night? Had I wandered back to Dante like a chump? Was she outside this room? Had we done anything last night? Was I really that desperate for love?, I heard the door open, scared of confronting her I hid under the bed quickly, At first, I only heard footsteps, Then suddenly an unfamiliar voice said ''Found you~'' and kicked the blanket I was hiding with, They pulled me from underneath and held me close, smirking then letting me fall onto the bed, Only then, Did I see the face of the person who attacked me, confusion filled my face

This was the same person I had seen at the fall, They had rose gold hair and heterochromic eyes the color red and blue, If I counted correctly she had four ears

and their skin was so slightly red looking, I noticed a mark that looked a little bit like a fire symbol on her wrist, In other words; she was gorgeous, I stared at her and she coughed and started to speak

''Let's go out and talk, Shall we?''

I was led out of her bedroom as it seemed to a good looking dining table for four, And the person if front of me looked ready to talk

''My name is May, I am from the Liko tribe, May I ask what tribe you are from?''

My inner doubt was sparked, The Liko tribe?, Was this some overboard cosplay convention?, I decided to play by her games

''I think I don't have a tribe''

I watched as shock formed her face, Seems like I'm an abnormally here as she slowly gained composer again she said '' You look just about my age, And we get our tribe test when we reach the age of thirteen, You may need to go to a guide and may I ask what you name is?"

Annoyed that she didn't seem to budge in her role playing I decided to rebuff her ''No you may not'' I noticed her reaction and softened ''If it helps you sleep at night you can call me Croc, Now, you mentioned a guide, Can you take me there?"

May flinched, Looks like I hurt her feelings, I was about to just go on my own when she said ''I'll take you'' in a hushed like voice, But she was smiling ever so slightly, In other words; it was cute, I shoved any weird thoughts to the side as she went out of the house, I followed her, As she was now dragging me to the ''guide'', I noticed the trees were a red color and the grass was pink, Yet I found that at this end, The moss I was following earlier was a purple pink color, Fearful of what this adventure may bring, I carefully noted that the purple pink moss was still growing in a wonky line as we walked, I mean, I had nothing to loose so, why couldn't I spend another day or two in this strange place?

After sometime, We stopped suddenly, May got to her knees and started reciting some strange words, I was wondering the pure essence of this until May got up and walked to where I was and looking at my bored eyes, She smirked as I saw something mind blowing; A building was rising out of the ground ''Listen Croc, You must think your all that and stuff but here?, This is my part of the woods" she looked me over once more and we entered the building, Which had in bold letters ''RUI GUIDE''

I really wasn't in Hazera anymore.
