The second time I entered Amaurota, the feeling of danger made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up from the beginning. There was a dense humid vapor of old wood from trunks, of aged roots. But what could I do? It was the only place where I would find answers. At least he had to know what my name was, where I came from and why I was there, right? I didn't want to bother tiger lily who, although he didn't say it, was obviously a busy guy. The house was illuminated with a slight amber hue. I knew I shouldn't touch the marbles or the house would end up rejecting me again.
-Hello, Amaurota. -I greeted with a trembling voice as I took unsteady steps. My voice seemed buried deep in my chest, so I took a deep breath to expel it more firmly - Please don't eat me. I do not want to hurt you. Don't get angry.
The light from the stained glass windows refracted faintly on me, in colors on the ceiling with fear that they would explode like the last time. I waited a moment, nothing happened.
-If you are going to hurt me, give me some sign, so I can defend myself.Ok, I took his silence as an answer. I moved forward, but instead of going up I decided to stay on the ground floor. I was afraid that the marbles would seduce me again. The large hall ended with a spiral staircase. To the left it was clear that there were more rooms in the middle of a wide corridor. I peeked around the left side at the bottom of the stairs and could see that the hallway only had a door on one side. I took a deep breath, undecided where to go. Without a certain reason I opted for the right side.
The first door contained a room with a very low table and small animal figures hanging from the ceiling. Behind the door there was a bed from ancient times, an antique rocking horse, and porcelain dolls. I had seen a period movie, maybe I was dreaming. Rather, it was obvious. It resembled an abandoned children's room from a horror movie scene. On the small table with the candelabra there was a crystal ball. I blew on it to be able to clarify the inside, however, I couldn't so I decided to clean it with my hand. The light touch of my fingers as I approached the glass made the reality around me fade. I looked around me, it was a blank space, on the other side I could see Amaurota's room, the giant wooden horse. Yes. I was inside the ball, however, I was not afraid. It would all be over when he woke up, right? I walked in that blank space inside the crystal ball until I came to a rock with a carved symbol: the head of a lion with the body of a snake. As I touched the stone, the ground beneath my feet crumbled and I fell into a whirlwind of spiraling images.
In the fascinating world of those images, I was able to witness the presence of two beings that seemed merged into one: twins. These brothers, beyond their identical physical appearance, shared a deep connection that transcended the barriers of time and space. They had lived in other lives, on other planets, and their essence resonated with ancient wisdom. As I watched in wonder, their childish laughter filled the air as they cast runes with complex symbols. These symbols seemed to contain a mystical and enigmatic power, revealing the deep connection that these brothers had with a reality beyond the tangible. Their thoughts, far from being limited by the restrictions of everyday reality, were creative and filled with a mythical and alchemical faith. They prayed to heaven and hell, to order and chaos. I could see something special, complex and enigmatic in their eyes. The images followed one another like a movie while I was falling. They were special beings, endowed with extraordinary abilities. They had the ability to communicate with plants and animals, to understand their secret language and to heal with their touch. Even while they slept, their brotherly connection continued, holding conversations on a plane of existence beyond dreams. My head began to hurt so badly that it seemed to hurt behind my nose, I feared I would be plummeting for all eternity, so I began to despair. However, the images continued to happen: These adventurous siblings undertook journeys along lost paths on a fragmented continent, without having a mother or a father, without friends or a homeland that claimed them. People loved them and feared them, for their presence was a reminder of the magic and mystery that inhabited the world. Their stay in a place was ephemeral, since its aura of power and enigma drove them to move forward in search of new horizons.
