September 1, 1976,
Georgie wakes up her breath in short pants. Another nightmare. It's always the same. Something about Jamie and where he is. She glances at her clock. 6:45 AM. She sighs she wouldn't have been able to sleep again anyway. Georgie stumbles out of bed and reaches out to grab her robe. She slips on her slippers just as someone bangs on her door.
Her brother James flies through the door. He tackles her to the cold floor.
"Ow! Jamie, what the bloody hell?" she complains. She rubs the back of her head.
"It's September First Vix!" he says. He stands up with a hand out for her to take.
"I know that. That's no bloody reason to tackle me to the floor."
"This is our year Vix! This year Evans is going to fall for me!"
Lily Evans is a fellow Gryffindor in their year and Georgie's best friend. James tries his hardest to get her to go out with him. She detests him and it is no secret. Though Georgie had seen her get jealous last year when Myra Belby asked James out on the Hogwarts Express. Her brother loves that girl to the Moon and to Saturn.
"You say that every year Jamie. She always says no."
"Don't bring me down right now Vixen."
"Quit calling me that. Mum keeps pestering where that nickname came from."
"It suits you though George."
"Ugh never mind I prefer Vixen."
"Georgiana, James, time to start getting ready!" their mother yells.
James smirks and heads towards the door. He leaves it wide open.
"I bet Sirius and Remus will lose their heads when they see you!"
"James I will beat the living shit out of you!" she yells.
"Georgiana Elizabeth Potter! No swearing!" Their mum says. She stands down the hall her hair in curlers.
"Yes Mum, sorry."
Georgie picks a sweater and jeans and then makes her way to her bathroom. Her hair was a bit untidy not like her brother's hair there was no taming his hair without Dad's hair treatment. James only uses Sleekeazy's for special occasions. Georgie on the other hand uses it daily to keep her hair straight.
She turns on the shower and flicks on the muggle radio by the sink. Killer Queen fills the bathroom. Georgie slips off her slippers and sings along. She hops in the shower and sings the song at the top of her lungs,
"She's a Killer Queen, gunpowder gelatine, dynamite with a laser beam..."
Her mind wanders to Sirius and Remus. James has a point what will they think of her? She has changed a lot this summer. Her hair was long now like Lily's. She had thinned out a bit and her cheeks had lost their baby fat. Mum says she is quite gorgeous and shows her off to all her friends. Would the boys think the same thing?
She kills the water and slides her robe on. Killer Queen fades out just for Mamma Mia to rupture throughout the room. Georgie smiles and sings once again to one of her favorite songs. She holds the brush up to her mouth like a microphone and spins in circles till she is dizzy.
Her mum knocks on the door,
"Come on Georgie we have to go soon!"
Georgie rolls her eyes.
