"Wake up nini..."
"WAKE UP!!"
Startled, I jumped up and groaned at the weight of my baby sister on my stomach. I rubbed my eyes and looked at the excited toddler sat on me.
"Mari, what are you doing up so early?" I groggily asked Looking at the clock, it read 6:47. I didn't have to wake up for the next half hour. I yawned and gently nudged her off of me and onto the open space of my bed.
"ITS MY FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL NIKA!" She squealed. Loudly, may I add. I cringed at her outburst and gave her a stern look. She realized her tone and covered her mouth.
"Sorry Nika." Her voice came out muffled. I rolled my eyes and picked her up, placing her on the floor before swinging my legs over and getting up as well.
"Were you the first one awake Mari?" I stretched, trying to get the last bits of sleep out of my body."Mhm! I woke up everybody! You the last one up Nika!" Shocking. She'd sleep through the whole day if she could. I guess she really is looking forward to her first day.
She held her arms up to me, wanting me to pick her up. "Nuh-uh Mari. Ain't you a big girl now? You don't need to be getting picked up no more." I'm gonna pick her up, I just wanna make her sweat a bit.
Her big brown eyes immediately filled with tears and she whined at me, attempting to crawl up my legs. I cooed and swept her up into my arms, making my way to my bathroom.
I sat her on the counter and watched as she brushed her teeth, making sure she did it right before brushing mine and doing my quick facial care. I then stripped myself and Mari out of our clothes, making sure to ask her if she needed to potty before getting in the shower with her.
Made the mistake of not asking her once. Let's just say it wasn't pee...Never again. I washed Mari up quickly and stood her outside of the shower with her princess towel on. I then washed myself thoroughly, mindful that I have Mari waiting for me.
Once done, I stepped out to find Mari sitting on the floor with her thumb in her mouth and her other hand playing in her hair. I scrunched up my face and took her thumb out of her mouth. "No baby, don't put your fingers in your mouth. That's nasty, remember?" She pouted and nodded but her face quickly changed into a smile, "Can I choose my outfit today Nika?" I stood straight and pursed my lips, placing my hands on my hips. "I don't know.. you sure you can do that?" I playfully asked. "YES! I do good Nika!" She giggled. I smiled and nodded, "alright, go ahead. Don't take too long either. Get Tia to do your hair for you."
"Okay!" She got up, running out of my room. I keep telling this girl to stop that damn running but she not gon learn till she hurt herself.
I got myself changed into a cute pink one piece and a pair of jeans. On top, I added a white cropped furry jacket, leaving it unzipped. To finish off, I accessorized with a gold necklace and bracelet. My ass looked so good. I flat ironed my hair, as well as applying light makeup. I'm already fine as hell so makeup really don't even matter, but I love me some eyeliner and lipgloss.
Once I was done , I grabbed my phone, keys and bag before walking out of my room and into Tiana's. Mari was sat on the bed, Tia's phone in hand, with her red Minnie-mouse shirt and black leggings. She even had on a pair of red and black Jordan 4's. Her hair was in 2 big curly puffs and they both had black bows on them. "She picked that out by herself?"
Tiana was finishing up laying down her wig.
"I asked her the same damn thing. I tried changing her shoes and she basically told me to fuck off cause they match. Like damn, I just wanted her to change them cause this her first day so you know they finna get scuffed up." Tiana whispered, not wanting the toddler to hear her profanities.
