Lookie wasn't sure how she got here.

...That was a lie, actually.

After the date between Iris and her, things changed a tad bit! Shocking, no? The two had begun to so-called 'bond'.

(Lookie internally cringed calling it bonding.)

And one fortunate day, the two had no plans. Kinda. It was a cool autumn day with leaves of varying shades; red, yellow, orange.. and every other color that existed during fall.

So what (shockingly, according to Lookie) brilliant idea did Iris have? Watching the lovely stars! According to the forecast, it wouldn't be too cloudy.

It was currently the evening as Lookie was getting ready for their little activity; stargazing! She was gathering a few materials, like a pair of binoculars... even though there was a decent chance she wouldn't use them. A blanket and a few crackers had been stuffed into her little backpack as well. Why a blanket? No idea. It was like a nighttime-picnic, per-say!

Meanwhile, back wherever-the-hell Iris lived, she was gathering a little jacket and some fruit smoothie.. things. The ones you can buy at a store with lids on. Iris made sure to get a mango smoothie as one of them. After all, wasn't that what Lookie had gotten during the date? Assuming you said yes, then you're correct. It was probably going to be a bit chilly outside, hence the jacket.

The two were planning to meet in a park of some sorts at approximately.. nine? Eight? Eh, they didn't care to make a time. Just text each other or something.

(due to the fact it is currently 1 hour before i sleep and i don't feel like working on this tomorrow bc of school, cue the time skip!)

————————————

Lookie and Iris were currently sitting on a blanket in said park. They were a decent distance away from each other, which was quite ironic considering they literally kissed once. Oh well. Lookie was currently eating her last cracker and gazing up at the stars, occasionally pointing up at a constellation or two she recognized. Iris was purposefully pointing out the ones Lookie missed. Bastard.

The moon had shown up a while ago already with much of the clouds from the morning gone. It was a clear night, with shimmering stars and such. Crickets could be heard softly chirping in the midst of the dark between the trees, birds fast asleep. The stars and moon glowed a brilliant light, illuminating and casting a beautiful turquoise tint all over the world in which it was night.

And considering how late it was (they'd been here for two hours already), to say Lookie was tired would be an understatement. She was exhausted. Iris? Not so much, surprisingly. To be fair though, Lookie's sleep schedule was rather... questionable.

Nonetheless, Lookie was growing increasingly drowsy by the moment. She could barely keep her eyes open at this point. A shiver was sent down her spine as a cool breeze went by. It would've been a good idea for her to be less ignorant and actually check the temperature for once.

Iris seemed to notice this. She scooted closer to the latter without Lookie realizing. After a moment of hesitation, she took off her jacket and gently put it on Lookie's shoulders to shield her from the cold breezes.

Lookie blinked rapidly, snapping out of her trance for a moment. She tilted her head curiously, her gaze darting up to Iris. Iris grinned smugly, gently poking her on the shoulder and taunting her for already being unable to keep her eyes open. Lookie simply grumbled quietly in response, her face a crimson red.

And the two sat like that for a few more minutes in silence; fifteen, at most.

Iris had scooted closer to the latter over the time span, continuing to observe the night sky. It was fascinating, admittedly. She occasionally murmured the name of a star, to which Lookie rolled her eyes and called Iris a know-it-all-bastard.

Yet Lookie couldn't continue being a jerk back to her for longer. Her exhaustion was slowly getting to her, bit by bit. After a few more minutes, her eyes began to flutter close. Lookie's breathing slowed a little bit alongside her beating heart (she didn't even realize how quickly her heart had pumped around Iris). Unknowingly, she rested her head against Iris' shoulder and began to snore softly.

Iris paused, freezing up in place in surprise. Her face grew increasingly more flushed as the realization of what was happening settled in. A slow, deep inhale and exhale calmed her nerves down.. for now. She stared at the resting Lookie for a moment. Iris quietly wrapped her arms around the latter, pulling her closer. She gently combed her fingers through Lookie's hair.

A soft hum began to leave her throat as Lookie's limbs relaxed.

rises the moon~... 🎵

Iris continued to hum quietly under her breath, gently snuggling Lookie during her slumber. She was mindful as to not awake the latter, either. That wouldn't have been ideal. After a moment of hesitation, Iris leaned in and gently pressed a kiss to Lookie's forehead. Lookie stirred slightly, but otherwise didn't awaken.

"You know.. you're like the stars. Shimmering and being the reason there's life. You're not quite as bright, but still." Iris murmured softly to Lookie, knowing she probably wouldn't hear her words anyway. Her eyes began to close as well, still comfortably cuddling Lookie.

...

A moonflower blossomed beside the two.

Ironic how they symbolize romance, no?
