Knock Knock
"Luke, get the door,"
"Why does it always have to be me?" I said to my rather annoying mom while I reluctantly put down my laptop and got up.
"You know what, I'm going to break the fourth wall before we even get to the second page," I said, turning to the reader.
A godly voice spoke from the heavens: "Answer the goddamn door Luke,"
The goddamn door swung open.
"SURPRISE!"
Startled, I jumped back, before realizing it was just my grandfather.
"Grandpa!" I exclaimed.
He went for a handshake and I went for a hug and I ended up with a bruise on my side.
Alister was my mad scientist grandpa who invented lots of cool stuff. My mom didn't approve of him, mostly because of his drinking problem. Every time he came over he brought with him some great candy that he makes all by himself.
Countless times he'd been denied by the government when he try's to get money to fund his machines. I'm pretty sure he's just given up trying. By now I'm sure he's thousands of dollars in debt as his only source of income is selling that delicious candy to children as he drives by in his white unmarked van.
He checked his watch and gasped.
"EGADS! I'm sorry love, but I'm late,"
"What? But you just got here,"
"The traffic was hell,"
And with that, he dashed out the door. Never to be seen alive again.
