Chapter 17 Page 71

After hearing a loud commotion that sounded like shouting coming from Rose's room one morning when they woke up in their new house, Luna and Red hurried from their rooms into hers to investigate the source of the noise.

Red asked, "What are you shouting for?" as Rose turned to face them both as they entered her room. Rose then just stood there, stunned.

Then she remarked, "As I lay over, I noticed a spider close to my head. I didn't try to frighten you, but for a split second I became afraid." Red put his palm to his brow, shook his head, and they both turned to go while Luna clung onto his arm.

Luna and Red both sat at the table eating breakfast and then turned to see Rose was in a hurry to leave the house so Luna jumped up and kissed Red goodbye. Her and Rose both went to the school to start their day.

Rose's birthday was coming up so soon and she wanted to have a party and invite all her friends from school to join her for her birthday and celebrate. But there was just one problem: she never talked to her parents about it and she was kind of nervous to ask.

Luna and Rose left for home later that evening. While Luna prepared their dinner, Red took a seat at the table and Rose retired to her room to finish her schoolwork. When they got to talking about their days, Luna became really ill. Running to their room, she did so. Rose came outside to assist with supper when Red called for her to, and she did. To see whether Luna was alright, Red entered the room. Then, as Luna was kneeling down by the toilet and vomiting, he sat on the edge of the bed. Red was concerned that there might have been a problem with her.

Rose was in the kitchen preparing dinner when they both came walking back outside. Luna took over and Rose walked over to set the table and sit down to wait for them to finish eating.

Luna then grinned at Rose. "So... I know my birthday is coming up very soon... and I had a question to ask," Rose replied, grinning back.

After exchanging glances, Red and Luna turned to face Rose. Red asked, "What is your question?" as he crossed his path.

She continued speaking after that. "So, I've made a lot of friends at school. I was wondering if there was any way I could throw a celebration?"

Red interrupted Luna as she was ready to say anything, grinning.

"We'll have to see where things go and how your grades look," he said, shaking his head.

Rose asked, "why is there always a wait on things all the time?" as she became a little agitated. "You won't let me do anything at all for a modest party that I just want to throw."

Then she got up and left with a fury. Luna shook her head, then glanced at Red.

Rose hurried out the door, slammed it shut, and left.
