There you were, Y/N Wash. You were seated beside your twin brother, Shane Walsh, at a dinner party with Shanes childhood best friend, Rick Grimes. Rick's wife, Lori and their son, Carl were there too. You were having a great time. You'd take a world filled with laughter, family, friends, and food over anything. Little did you know that that would soon come to an end.
You watch Shane scoop up the last bit of mashed potatoes and giggle at Lori's face. Her eyes widen as she notices most of the food is on Shanes plate. "Oh Shane, you're such a goofball." Rick chuckles.
You smile at this. You loved seeing your brother having fun while off his job as a police officer. Him and Rick both worked together. You, on the other hand, were never interested in actually being a police officer. You were a bookstore clerk. It wasn't anything special but, it was something you actually tolerated unlike the past five jobs you had.
As you gather the food on your plate, you look up to see Shane eyeing Lori. This wasn't much of a surprise to you. You didn't want to think of it being true but you can't deny that tension between them. Lori looks back up at him but looks away guiltily when Carl begins to speak. "Uhh uncle Shane... that sure is a ton of mashed potatoes!" Carl waited for everyone to laugh but the room went silent at his stupid observation that wasn't funny coming from his mouth.
You began to take some bites out of your food complimenting Loris cooking as you did so. "This is pretty great, Lori." you smile. "But I'll be right back." You rush to the bathroom to take out all the food you had stuffed in your pockets and spit out the food you had in your mouth. You felt a little guilty about lying to Lori by telling her her cooking was good. You panicked as you tried to come up with a way to get rid of this vile waste. You tried not to look at it but you couldn't help it. As you did, you could see a soft green light radiating off of it. That's not normal you think as you look at it concerned but shrug it off since that's just how her cooking was.
As you think of something to do, you see their dog and quietly call him over. He doesn't move and you have to rush over to him quietly and you pull him into the bathroom. You lay the food on the floor in front of him and swiftly leave the room.
You get back into the dining room and see Lori cleaning up the table. Shane motioned for you to distract Lori as he scraped his plate into the trash shivering as he saw it plop in. "Where'd you get the recipe?" you ask. "I thought you'd never ask!" She said excitedly but was soon cut off as a loud thud could be heard. Shane and Rick peaked around the corner. "Everything alright?" Shane asked.
We followed the noise and found their dog dead. You gulp as you see this, knowing it's your fault. Lori gasps and when Carl runs to where we are. "No..." Rick kneels down to their dead dog.
Shane looks over to you as you look back at him nervously. You had just begun to think about how if their dog died from eating just a few bites, then what about Shane, Rick, or Lori?
