Thus, the two siblings maintained balance for their kingdom and their subjects, all the different types of ponies. But as time went on, the younger brother became resentful. The ponies relished and played in the day his elder sister brought forth, but shunned and slept through his beautiful night. One fateful day, the younger unicorn refused to lower the moon to make way for the dawn. The elder sister tried to reason with him, but the bitterness in the young one's heart had transformed him into a wicked mare of darkness: Nightmare knight.''

Narrator: He would vowed that he would shroud the land in eternal night. Reluctantly, the elder sister harnessed the most powerful magic known to ponydom: the Elements of Harmony. Using the magic of the Elements of Harmony, she defeated her younger brother and banished him permanently to the moon. The elder sister took on responsibility for both...

Narrator and Dusk Shine: ...sun and moon...

Dusk Shine: ...and harmony has been maintained in Equestria for generations since. Hmm... Elements of Harmony. I know I've heard of those before... but where?

As Dusk shine walks down a road, Lemon Hearts, Twinkleshine, and Minuette appear and invite her to a party hosted by Moon Dancer.

Twinkleshine: There you are, Dusk! Moon Dancer is having a little get-together in the west castle courtyard. You wanna come?

Dusk Shine: Oh, sorry, girls... I've got a lot of studying to catch up on.

Twinkleshine: [sigh] Does that pony do anything except study? I think she's more interested in books than friends.

Dusk enters a library atop an ivory tower and locates a book called Predictions and Prophecies with the help of Barbara while a beautiful white mare with light hair with ice crystal heart cutie mark walks into the library her name is Crysta.

''Dusk Shine: I know I've heard of the Elements of Harmony.''''

''Barbara: Ow!''

Dusk Shine: Barbara! Bar-Bara! Barbara?

Barbara groans slowly sitting up from the impact and she smashes the gift that was for Moon Dancer before helping Dusk Shine.

''Dusk Shine: There you are. Quick, find me that old copy of Predictions and Prophecies. What's that for?''

''Barbara: Well, it was a gift for Moon Dancer, but...''

[squeak]

''Dusk Shine: Oh, Barbara, you know we don't have time for that sort of thing.''

Barbara: But we're on a break!''

''Dusk Shine: No, no, no... no, no, no! [grunts] Barbara!''

''Barbara: It's over here!"

Barbara found the book when Dusk used his magic on the book Barbara to whack to make her fall off the ladder but Crysta caught her just in time.

Crysta: You ok Barbara"

"Barbara: Ya thank you? Crysta"

After some reading, Dusk learns that Nightmare Moon is prophesied to return on the day of the Summer Sun Celebration, which takes place in two days. He writes a letter to Princess Celestia to warn her of the impending danger and sends it using Barbara's magic fire breath. Barbara quickly receives a reply and reads it aloud, relaying that although Celestia trusts her completely, Dusk has to stop reading "those dusty old books".
