A loud shriek interrupted the blissful slumber of Magnus and Tux. The old men cracked an eyelid open, but upon the sound of silence that followed, decided to close their eyes again to catch up on their sleep. They'd only had 10 hours and it was already midday! It's a hard life being a cat.

From the kitchen, Flynn could hear the snoozing resume and rolled his eyes. If his calls for help weren't to be answered, then he'd give them a wake up call he was sure would alert them.

Padding his cute toe beans out from the kitchen and into the bedroom, Flynn hid at the foot of the bed, arching his back upwards and keeping his head low, wiggling his bum until he was ready to... POUNCE.

"Ahhh" yelled Tux, whereas Magnus just settled for a simple hiss.

"Helloooooo??? Did you not hear me shriek?" Flynn pouted.

Magnus was grooming his fur, trying to get it out of its distressed state, too busy to answer the question. But Tux had no trouble being candid about it all. "We did hear you, we just decided to ignore you." He rolled his eyes and curled back up again into himself, tucking his bushy tail just below his chin.

"Get up get up get up!" Flynn pleaded, but still to no avail. "The dreamies are missing!"

The world went silent for a second. The momentary silence was so deafening that they could hear the church bells ringing from towns over. Magnus had stopped grooming himself from the shock, and was left with his tongue suspended in mid air.

"Where are they?" He demanded, when he came out of his trance. Flynn just stared in response. "WHERE ARE THEY?" His voice cracked on the second demand and he hid behind his soft white paws.

Tux patted the ginger cat on the back of his head,"There, there, I'm sure we can find them. Besides, we've still got our pouches to eat"

"What good are our pouches? I'm starving again straight after eating them. I need my dreamies!"Magnus was sobbing now and Flynn came in to give him a cuddle, joining in with the sobs.

Tux rolled his eyes, standing up straight. "Right! We're not going to find the god damn dreamies just by laying here and crying are we? Blooming imbeciles!"

Both of the younger boys looked up and sniffled. Tux sure could be mean, but they'd be lost without him. He was the wise one, the one you always went to when there was trouble, the one you go to for help, the greatest friend they could ask for.

Tux continued on when he saw he had their attention, "Let's go to where we last saw them and look for some clues."

With Tux leading the way, the three of them scrambled into the kitchen, eager eyes examining the area around the cupboards. The cupboard door with the cat food in was ajar...

Tux quickly went and examined the entrance, pondering on where they could have disappeared to. It was like an episode of criminal minds, and Tux was the lead detective. It's a shame they had claws and couldn't wear gloves to examine the forensics. Not that they could've anyway, Tux noted as he watched Flynn walk through the evidence of stray crumbs.

"Where could they have gone?" Flynn asked dumbly.

Tux pondered for a moment, noting the crumbs. It was intentional, "Someone has eaten them!"

The accusation was so wild. How hadn't they thought of that? Magnus' jaw dropped in horror and Flynn gulped loudly, drawing unwanted attention to himself. The two older boys shared eye contact for a few seconds, before they both nodded at each other and headed towards Flynn, each stride synchronized to a T. Flynn gulped again, and began slowly stepping backwards to prevent him from being cornered.

"Come on Flynnie, was it you? We won't be angry, just want you to tell the truth," Magnus asked. His words seemed kind, but Flynn could see there was sinister intentions through seeing Magnus grit his teeth together.

"It wasn't me! I swear to you!" Flynn cried. They had reached the front door now and Flynn had no where else to run. He squeezed his eyes shut as the others got closer and closer, until...

CRUNCH

"Huh?" Magnus said, dumbfounded by the sound.

"What was that?" Tux puzzled.

The sound was coming from the living room! The three of them pressed their backs against the wall and slunk across, gradually inching towards the doorframe. Like cartoon characters, the 3 of them popped up from behind the door, one head on top of the other, only to see....Arlo?

"Hi guys!" Arlo said enthusiastically, chewing loudly. The empty dreamies bags surrounding him like bodyguards. "You guys ever tried these before? They're so good". He casually tossed a handful of the sweet, crunchy dreams into his awaiting mouth with a small smile, not quite realising the ruckus he had caused.

"It was you?" The kitties exclaimed.

Arlo tilted his head to the side, "what was me?"

"You ate all the dreamies!!!!" Magnus bellowed, shaking in anger.

"Oh, that? Well yes, yes that was me... sorry, did you want some?" He tilted the packet towards the kitties, but all that was left was the dust and crumbs that collected at the bottom. Seeing everyone's reaction he frowned, glancing back at the packet himself and realising the amount he had offered was laughable. "Hmm...ah! I've still got these I'm happy to share!" The pup opened his mouth and offered the chewed up dreamies from his mouth. Wet crumbs sprayed out of his mouth as he spewed incomprehensible words, probably some more of his silly stories about sticks. Dogs are weird.

Tux shook his head in disgust, "no thank you, now let's go guys-" Tux turned on his heel, expecting the younger cats to follow him, but was proved wrong by the sight of Magnus and Flynn eating the dreamies out of the young pups mouth.

Tux sighed, how did he end up living with these morons?
