God... My head hurts so bad... I turn my head, whimpering in pain.
"Lucy?" I hear a familiar voice, very slowly opening my eyes. "Mom? Where am I?" I look around, my eyes adjusting. I raised my hand, gazing at the IV that was in it. "The hospital Luce.. What do you remember?" Mom came closer, holding my hand. "Molly... She screamed, and I ran then someone ran with her... Oh god, MOLLY!" I start to cry, thrashing a bit. Mom shushes me, petting my hair. "Where's my Molly?" I look at my mother, who is now crying also. "They haven't found her yet."
I spent two nights in the hospital, coming home with a concussion. I feel so guilty. If I hadn't of taken bath, Molly would be fine. Did I not run fast enough? Mom has told me it wasn't my fault, but I can't help to feel that it was. Mom suggested that I call my best friend, to attempt to take my mind off things.
Clarissa and I have been best friends since kindergarten. We instantly clicked. She was supposed to be with me that night, helping me watch Molly while Mom was on a work trip. She couldn't at the last minute. Could she of saved Molly? I don't know. I sigh, pulling my purple hair into a ponytail. I pick up the picture on my bedside table of Mom, Molly and I at Sea World and hold it close.

Mom married my dad, they had me. When I was 7, Molly came along. Dad got drunk one night, and left, and never came back. It's just us, but we prefer it that way. We're a happy family. I stand out, seeing as I like to dye my hair, and just be weird. Molly isn't like me. She's more girly, but she also has some of my traits. She's the spitting image of Mom. I look like a combination of Mom and Dad, but I favor my mother more. I love my family.

"Lucy, you there?" Clarissa snapped her fingers in front of my face, making me jump. She instantly pulled me into her arms, apologizing for scaring me. "It's not your fault, Clari. I need to stop zoning out." I half smile. I glance at the clock, almost 1 am. "C'mon. Let's go to bed." Clarissa makes me take my pain medicine, then lay down. She curls up beside me, her brown curls tied into a short ponytail. At this point in my life, I'm thankful that she's there.
