Chapter 2

Danny

Green eyes. So willow tree wispy light crystal forest green. I can't seem to get them out of my head. I close my eyes for just a second, and there they are. I try to sleep and they're I can seem to dream about

Soft, dark blond hair. More like dark sandy golden strands mixed in with deep dark chocolate brown highlights and a faded black underneath. The tingling buzz of vibrating friction that sparked through my fingers as I barely touched it

Her voice. Oh god, it was so raspy and dark and lyrical and melodic and soft and gentle. It's all I've been able to hear for last week since I saw her last at Holl' and Mark's place.

One girl. One voice. One pair of eyes. What the hell is wrong with me? No girl has never had me going like this, needing her like air and water. Not even Stacy, How is it that one name seems to have me tongue-tied without even having to see her.

Star.

Rubbing my jaw line roughly the prickly feel of my two week old stubble brushing across my fingers tickling it softly. Sighing I try to think of anything but the one person that seems to be on my mind lately. My coffee maker catches my attention, the coffee dripping in a synced beat. Drip, drop, drop, drop, drip, drip, drop. Immediately I grab my guitar and song book.

I got wounded

Left for dead, in the dark

Bleeding from nowhere but from my heart

I learned to stay numb

Until you came into my life the day you came

When you saved me

I was fallin'

Bout to hit rock bottom

And I'm still goin'

But for a whole 'nother reason

I cross out the last four lines writing the guitar chords on the back before I start playing again. My doorbell rings just as my coffee finishes brewing and I decide to open the door to let whoever's out there, in. I open the door and my jaw hangs open. What is she doing here? Her brown orbs look into my holes of dark winter forest greenish chocolate dark soil brown eyes. Her gaze travels down my half naked body, blatantly checking me out. I've been waiting for an entire year for her to be standing here her fiery red hair falling over the side of her face. What upset me is that I was hoping for a certain dirty golden blond. Sighing I hear my phone go off at the same time my coffee maker beeps. I let her in going to my phone answering it without checking the caller.

“Hi Danny it's Star, I'm just calling to see if you could come to rehearsals today?”She asks, and I could hear the hope in her voice. I couldn't make myself let her down, so I looked at the one girl who broke my heart as she gives me a curious look while I say

'More like shattered you into microscopic sized pieces you little bitch.' The small voice in the back of my head says

“Sure I'll be there in twenty just give me the address."She does and write it on a random piece of paper before hanging up.

“Was that your girlfriend?”She asks.

“Why are you here Stacy?”I counter her question, it was none of her business who I was or was not with.

“I came to get you back.”She answers simply. But it's not that simple, doesn't she get it? It's never as simple as that. Instead of answering I leave her in the middle of my apartment and go shower and change. If she thinks she can waltz in here and just expect me to fall at her feet she's got another thing coming. I may have been dreaming about this day since she walked out, but I don't need her to complicate anything else, my life is getting more screwed up by the minute as is without her here.
