we arrived at the theme park and bought our tickets
"ill pay, my treat" alejandro said, winking at heather. she rolled her eyes in response.
i laughed and thanked him
"so trent, what sort of rides do you like?" i asked him. being out with him made me realise how much i dont know about him
"im up for anything" he said
"ha, good luck with getting court on the rides, she hates roller-coasters" heather sneered
i hit her and walked off. trent laughed and walked after me
"thats okay, we dont have to go on anything if you dont want to of course" he smiled, a smile that put all my anxiety at ease.
"how about this one" he asked, stopping infront of a ride called 'the hungry caterpillar'
"cmon, its a kids ride. we will get laughed at" i rolled my eyes
"so? who cares, were here to have fun. plus theres no age limit"
i laughed "if you want to we can"
he dragged me onto the ride. i took my phone out and told him to smile.
"awe cute, thats going on my insta" i said, staring at the picture
the ride started, it wasnt too bad. trent was laughing next to me and screaming along with the kids.
the ride ended and trent walked off in a fit of giggles
"whats so funny?" i asked
"i dont know, that was just hilarious" he said, breathlessly
"are you high?"
"whats the matter with him?" heather asked as she walked up to us
"no idea, hes gone mental" i said "alejandro, are you okay?"
"huh? yes, yes im fine" he said, although he looked sort of green
"we just went on the smiler" heather smirked
trent composed himself and we all decided to go on a ride together. heather picked the tallest, scariest and fastest ride in the park. i could feel my stomach turn itself inside out as we stood in the line
"you okay court?" trent asked, a look of concern etched upon his face
"yeah im fine, just nervous"
"dont be, youll be fine" he reassured me
we sat down in the cart, heather and alejandro infront and me and trent behind. alejandro looked like he was about to pass out while heather looked like a kid on christmas.
my breathing quickened and my hands started shaking. 'oh god not now' i thought, now was not a good time to have a panic attack. trent grabbed my hand.
"your gonna be okay, i promise"
then we were off, twisting and turning, spinning and spiraling at what felt like 100 mph
"oh fuck" i said "holy shit"
"your okay" trent half yelled
i could feel the air being taken out of me and i struggled to catch my breath, my eyes started tearing up and i could feel my nose tingling
"courtney your okay, im here. just breathe, it will be over soon" trent said, holding my hand tightly
i could hear heather screaming infront of me
"ALEJANDROS PASSED OUT" she said frantically
the ride went on for what seemed like forever. we came to a slow stop and our seats unlocked.
"courtney, your okay. look at me, its over now." trent said, trying to help me calm down
he helped me up and brought me over to the side while the medics rolled in for alejandro. i kept crying, still unable to breathe.
"im sorry, im so fucking sorry" i cried
"hey, hey stop. theres nothing to be sorry about" trent said
he pulled me into his arms and held me as i sobbed. i eventually calmed down and he walked me out of the ride and to a bench nearby
"here, we can wait for heather and alejandro here"
"do you think he will be okay?" i asked
"hes going to be just fine" trent said with a soft smile
"im sorry you had to witness that" i laughed
"dont be, thats perfectly normal"
i smiled
"hey guys, court you okay?" we heard alejandro say as he walked up to us
"your okay!" i said, relief rushed over me. i hugged him.
"im so sorry i put you guys throught that" heather said regretfully
"its okay, you just wanted to go on the rides, its my fault for being such a pussy" i laughed
i went and hugged her
"maybe we should go back, i dont think alejandro should go on anymore rides" trent suggested
we walked back out to the car, heather drove this time.
"but i can drive!" alejandro insisted
"fuck no, you just passed out. sit down boy." she said sternly
