Chapter 6: Truth?

DRAKE POV

I am dumbstruck, Jerry just displayed a video in front of us in the meeting room. It was a footage of...LILY. It has only deepened my suspicion further. Everyone looked as shocked as me. I have already let them know the about the ring that Rachel had, It was of that silhouette. Back to the video, It was of Lily and......Robert ? Yes, it was Robert. It seemed as if Lily was arguing badly with him and she even shoved him towards the gate. She kept throwing her hands on him and yelling at him, The video stopped and I looked at Jerry. He was looking so damn proud right now. "How did you-", I was cut off. " Well, you see I have eyes of an eagle" he said, Straightening his collar. Emily scoffed and pushed him aside, "It was MY idea"

she said hysterically. "So what, I found it!" he exclaimed. I shook my head in annoyance, as they kept bickering. "If you are done, then mind telling me from where did you get this ?" I questioned, being done with them. Emily spoke up "Well, I suggested HIM to check the dashcams of nearly vehicles, if by chance they had captured anything ".
"It was ME who found it, for the twenty second time", Jerry busted.
"Shut up you two" I finally said, losing patience. "We work as a team not individually" I stated. They both looked away. "Anything else, any other footage?" I asked. "No, It was the only vehicle parked there at that time , a food van." Jerry said ." Hmm.." I was thinking about the chances of Lily being the murderer.. Sara finally spoke up. "So, Lily had feelings for Harley, when she rejected her, Lily felt hurt and humiliated but pretended to be fine and became friends again. Lily found out that Harley was getting married and couldn't bear it as she already stated how strong her feeling were for Harley. She lost her mind and pushed Robert out angrily, pretending to be caring when he fought with Harley, went back and killed her, took her ring as a souvenir. When she found  no way to get out, she reported her body and pretended to faint, I have seen a case like this before, remeber the Julie Ferdinant case Robby?" she asked Robby. " Yes! Oh Yes! This is it, It is similar to that!" he exclaimed. "What about the unidentified DNA?" I asked.
"Can be of someone else, may be she got it on her dress way before that tragedy."
Jerry tried to explain. I was connecting the dots together. Well, Lily is VERY suspicious, she even refused to speak. "Harley knew Lily's secret of being a Lesbian and was afraid to get it out." I added. All of them nodded. It only strengthened the fact that LILY killed Harley.

I then called Officer Rason and told him to get Lily into police's custody. At the end, Sara told me that Harley and her friend Rafael were outcasts in their workplace.

SARA POV

I could feel vibrations under the table, it was evident that Lily was continuously tapping her feet on the ground violently and her hands were sweaty and beads of sweat were visible on her forehead. We are currently in the interrogation room, Lily sat infront of me and Drake. He had his poker face on, he was getting back at Lily for not speaking up to him earlier, I could see it. I, on the other hand remained neutral.

"Miss James, You must be aware of the fact that now you're here as a suspect not as a witness". Drake said, calm yet dangerous. I was sitting with my tablet, taking notes of everything happening.
"Y-you got the wrong-pe-person I d-did n-nothing wrong" she sluttered and drank some water.

"Here's a footage of you, you pushed Miss Harley's financè out, went back and killed Miss Harley.we also know that you got rejected by Miss Harley and there is is a huge possibility that you could'nt take the humiliation and of-course, you were afraid to get your secret out." Drake threw a bunch of papers in front of her, Lily's chat with Harley. She widened her eyes, picked the papers with shaky have one started breathing heavily. "N-No, I-I. w would n-never do that." She was trying to gulp her tears inside. I handed her some tissues. Drake really is harsh on such people.

"You have Robert's ring (soon-to-be ring), don't you?" Drake said straightaway ignoring her. Her eyes widened once again - the tears streamed out " I-I pi-picked it u-up, I-really-d-did" she tried to give an explanation. "I s-saw it near the staircase, please—"
she was cut off by Drake "Enough of that,
Ms. James I believe you were involved in your fathers case too but got out somehow?" Drake said, trying hard to keep his cool. Wow, that's new, she is involved in some other case too, Now all the evidences point to her being guilty. I saw her and my eyes widened, She was having a panic attack! She was shaking badly, trembling and repeating something again and again. Just when I about to go help her someone barged in.
Drake remained oddly unaffected. When Lily fainted, the boy who barged in came and suddenly picked her up, the officers came after him. " Mr. James, I know that you are her brother and you are worried but--" But Officer Rason was cut off by him.
