Curse of the Were-Rabbit

Chapter 3: Mind Manipulator

The hatch to the basement was opened up, and Richard said, "Why didn't we think of it before gang? The solution to the recent storage problem. By simply connecting this special pen to the Mind Manipulator, we can brainwash the animals to behave!"

"That is good," said Jolt, "but, are you sure this is safe?"

"Of course," said Richard, "Although, this is the first test, so-"

"I'll do it," said Daisy, "I often test your inventions, so why stop doing that?"

"Daisy, are you sure? I mean, this is something that could end in disaster. And that's coming from the guy who is always optimistic about everything he makes succeeding."

"I'll be fine," said Daisy, "Besides, the worse I've gotten from this was soot in my face."

Daisy then put on the large glass helmet, and sat down.

"Okay," said Richard, "Now, to add a little power with these special panels."

The panels opened up, and were revealed to be solar panels.

"Aren't those Solar Panels?" asked Jolt.

"They were," said Richard, "But I altered them to absorb moonlight instead of sunlight."

"You're good bro," said Daisy.

Then, Richard turned to Jolt, who was hooked up to the machine, and said, "Good to go."

"Turning on, now," said Jolt, as the machine started to whir to lift. The first subject, was a rabbit they had caught from Sir Ebrum's establishment. A little helmet was attached to it's head, and connected to the Mind Manipulator.

"Okay," said Richard, "Now just say and think of what you want the little guy to do."

"Alright," said Daisy, "Do not trespass onto human territory. Do not eat the vegetables that they have. And do not run around, seeking out homes near human settlements."

Richard then looked at the bunny, and saw that it was just sitting there, nothing happening.

"Jolt," said Richard, "Come on. Start it up. Open the hatch!"

Jolt looked at the situation, and covered his eyes, and pulled the lever. The mind waves then moved electronically from Daisy over to the rabbit, who jolted a bit as the mind waves entered it's mind.

"It's working!!" said Richard, "IT'S WORKING!!!!!"

Daisy then jumped a bit, and the rabbit jumped as well.

"Okay, so, how long is this gonna go on?" asked Jolt, "I storm is coming soon. Should be here in thirty minutes."

"That's all we need," said Richard, "And we'll be done before the storm comes."

Just then, lightning flashed. Everyone looked out, and Jolt said, "Huh, it's here early."

However, something worse was to come. Lightning came down, and struck the generator, making the machine overload, and shock Daisy and the rabbit.

"JOLT!! SWITCH IT OFF!!!"

The two were being shocked, spazzing out, as Daisy started to hop like a rabbit, yelling, "GET IT OFF!! GET IT OFF ME!!!"

Jolt, in a panic, then grabbed a hammer, and swung it at the Mind Manipulator, and smashed it to pieces with one swing. The mind waves then flew around, and Richard looked at the pieces, not seeing the waves enter Daisy.

"Well, another experiment failed," he said, "Daisy, are you okay?"

"Yeah," said Daisy, "I just have a headache is all."

Jolt then grabbed the rabbit from the pen, and stroke it.

"Poor girl," he said, "That shock should've killed her, but she's still alive."

"How do you know it's a she?" asked Richard.

"Gender Scans, remember?"

"Give us a carrot," said Richard, "Let's see if it will accept it from us."

Daisy did just that, and held the carrot in front of the bunny, before she took a sniff, and turned her head away.

Richard then gasped, "I worked guys. A reformed Rabbit."

"Let's call her, Amy," said Daisy.

"Amy," said Jolt, "A fine name for a lovely bunny like her. I'll probably have to feed her now. I don't have a scent on me, so that should work. But that doesn't mean you can't come down and pet her Daisy. I know you do that with all the other rabbits."

However, Amy seemed to be a bit twitchy after the trio left.

"I think we hit it big tonight," said Richard, "Man kind, free of garden and farm pests. I think that will impress the mayor."

Daisy then blushed at the mention of the mayor, and pulled out his number.

"I'll be upstairs if anyone needs me," she said, looking gitty with happiness.

Jolt then said, "I'm gonna, go outside and check my prize melon."

"Oh yeah," said Richard, "You took up gardening after seeing that garden show."

"Well, you did program me to learn," said Jolt, "who knows, I may become an evil overlord."

The two laughed, knowing Richard put a limit on Jolt's programing.

Jolt then entered the garden house, and looked at the melon he had been growing since last year. It was almost triple the size of a normal melon. He then looked at the calendar, and crossed a day off. In just four days, was the night of the biggest produce contest, and Jolt was certain he was gonna win.

He then locked up the green house, and headed inside, as the people all over the town set up their systems for the night.

However, down in the basement, Amy's pen was shaking around. All the animals started to panic a bit, as they saw it bounce around. Then, it broke apart, the wood flying all over.

That night, while a scottish woman by the name of Susan Mor was fixing her garden, she heard something in the brush.

(Susan is played by Karen Gillan)

"Hello?" she called out, "Is anyone there?"

Then, a noise was heard, and Susan then pulled out a carrot she had been growing.

"Are you hungry? Here, this one is for you. If you'd like, you can stay with me."

Just then, from the bushes, came a rabbit that was massive in size, and Susan looked in shock, before saying, "Oh, my god. SO FLUFFY!!!"

She then hugged the bunny, as it ate the carrot, and Susan said, "Don't worry. I planted this garden for animals like you. But, I suppose that you'll eat it all up, won't you?"

The rabbit responded by pulling up all the vegetables, and eating them down. It then waved, and hopped into the night.

"Bye!!" said Susan, "Wait, should I be concerned about that?"

Susan was right to be concerned. All over town, crop protection was torn apart, and broken into, and the vegetables were being eaten. And the beast was gone before anyone could even see it.
